5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV!
Great TV. High tech for streaming, great picture and ease of operation
5.0 out of 5 stars We love our new Samsung TV!
The large screen Samsung TV delivers an impressive viewing experience with vibrant colors and sharp details, thanks to its advanced QLED technology. The sleek design fits well in any modern living space, and the smart features make it easy to navigate streaming services. The sound quality is decent, but pairing it with a soundbar enhances the experience even more. Whether you're watching movies, sports, or gaming, this TV provides an immersive experience that truly captivates. Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment setup.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good image quality, low energy usage
The media could not be loaded. This OLED TV provides an excellent quality image, with super inky shadows and bright highlights. The four HDMI ports (one with eARC) offer a good amount of connectivity for all your video devices and two USB ports for playing off flash drives (or providing 5v power to USB powered devices). For being a massive 77" TV, the power usage is very low, with the Energy Guide showing less than $1 a week when watched 5 hours a day (will vary depending on electricity rates). The remote is small, with limited buttons. I get wanting to keep things simple and move all the usual remote functions onto the menu interface (as this can be updated unlike remote buttons), but I prefer the analog accessibility that tons of remote buttons offer. I hate having to menu dive to access my most used features. The remote can be charged just by leaving it back facing up, in the sun, as it has a built-in solar panel for recharging. It also has a USB-C port if you want to charge it more traditionally.I do have a few things that I don't really care for besides the remote. Part of it is that, being a smart TV, it wants to access all sorts of data and has a very busy home screen to support all the smart features. Since I prefer to use a streaming device, I don't need all these extra things on my TV and there's really no way to clear them all out and leave me with a more streamlined interface. The other minor issue was that out of the box, the back panel isn't completely solidly attached across about a quarter of the width, as you can see in my video. This doesn't seem to cause any issues, but I would have expected a little bit better build quality. The screen, being a big chunk of glass, does have fairly strong reflections that really show up in dark content (see the "Billy Wilder" shot for a lamp reflection), so you may want to avoid bright lighting sources directly behind the screen. My last complaint is that Samsung is one of the only TV manufacturers that does NOT support Dolby Vision, something even more budget brands do. I prefer to watch my content in Dolby Vision when available, so this TV missing this feature is my biggest problem with it. That said, none of these problems significantly impacts the value proposition, as this is a lot of TV for the money and it provides a good value. Is it a perfect TV? Absolutely not. But for the price I think my issues are rather minor. But between all the little things that it misses, I think it warrants one star off the rating.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Best
Probably the best TV I've ever owned
5.0 out of 5 stars Such fantastic picture quality
Fantastic picture. I liked the previous interface a little bit better but still amazing features due to the AI assistance. Such a great picture
3.0 out of 5 stars Decent picture for the price, typical Samsung UI nonsense
Almost everything negative I have to say is specific to the user experience of the TV. This is a typical Samsung product: they try to insert their bloatware in the middle of everything you do. You are pushed to create a Samsung account just to use the TV during setup. You can bypass it, but if you were less tech savvy, this would probably be confusing rather than simply annoying and off-putting.You literally can’t even select the input of the TV without going through their awful OS. It’s a TV, not a smart phone, y’all. Why is it that you can’t put an input button on the remote like literally every other TV? One time the AppleTV disconnected, and we literally could not find it again in the inputs list without unplugging it and plugging it back into the TV. They offer a Samsung app for AppleTV that is also presented to you in their awful UI, but it is not the actual AppleTV *input*, so once again, it’s incredibly confusing and annoying for NO reason. The remote is minimalist garbage.Even the picture of the TV is not as good as their competitors. In every picture mode, the colors look blown out in a different way. I’ve owned other OLED TVs, and they had a much more accurate color profile than this one. I’ve had to manually adjust the color to make skin tones look natural. But please show me an oversaturated tropical bird in 4K, that’s useful. This panel also struggles with image quality when there is high visual frequency like the canopy of the jungle. You can see pixelation during otherwise smooth panning shots over such areas.Otherwise, the depth of color is your typical deep, rich OLED, and it does make video games look really great. Is it worth the price? Sure. I guess. But I would have paid more for a better more conventional TV experience. I don’t need middleware on my TV.
1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading or lack of Panel change Type within same model.
Buyer beware - This is the fault of Samsung and the buyer (me). I purchased this TV after reading the reviews iff Bolo. I knew that I wanted to get a QD-OLED panel from Samsung as opposed to a WOLED panel from Samsung. In my research and going to Best Buy to just see the display crispness, I viewed a 65 inch. When I received my 77 inch version of this model it did not seem to be as vibrant as what I saw in person using the demo mode of the TV. That’s when I found out that Samsung switched panel technology on the two larger sizes within the same model type, which is not advertised and hard to determine unless you really dig.The 55-inch and 65-inch models (North America): These sizes utilize QD-OLED (Quantum Dot-OLED) panels, which are known for their vibrant colors and higher brightness compared to traditional OLEDs.The 77-inch and 83-inch models (North America): These larger sizes use WOLED (White OLED) panels.
5.0 out of 5 stars Remote 😱
Love the tv, but the remote is failing. Bolo gave me a partial refund and I ordered a new remote. The original is getting me by until I get the new one. I just have to restart the tv once in a while.
