However I was pleasantly surprised. These were around long before the explosion of the canned energy drinks and I never tried them. As a lifelong coffee drinker I finally gave these a try to bring with me on work trips or other times when I didn't have access to my usual morning coffee. One bottle has about the same caffeine as a 16oz strong black coffee along with taurine, vitamins B5 & B12 and the other usual ingredients in most energy drinks . I started off drinking half a bottle as I was unsure if that much caffeine at once would give me the jitters. I had no issues and then tried a full bottle and again did not have any adverse jitters. Honestly I felt more awake than from my usual two large coffees. The pomegranate flavor was good, like a better tasting red bull. I also liked the fact it had no sugar unlike most of the "energy" drinks available so there is no crash afterwards. These are a great morning pick me up and I will buy again. The fact it was a 20 bottle value pack at a great price is even better. I now keep one in my work bag so I don't have to stop to grab a coffee or energy drink on trips. I still enjoy my coffee but these are a great replacement when needed.

5-Hour ENERGY has been around a couple of decades now and have established themselves in the energy drink market as a dominant player and for good reason. They continue to bring new flavors, new ideas, new products to us and I have never been an acolyte for any product, but when I saw this pomegranate flavored drink, I knew it was finally time to give this well-known brand a try. My schedule is rather crazy and so I often find myself needing a pick-me-up late in the evening just so I can get through the last few hours of work. This flavor appealed to me because I love pomegranate, but what I didn't suspect is how intense the flavor and the caffeine would combine to hit my throat with such a blast that I coughed and it stung. I coughed for a few minutes. That was just on my initial swallow. Subsequently, I think because now I knew what to expect, it has not had that intense hit of that first sip. I can absolutely see though why millions of folks rely on this brand for that instant jolt of energy to help them get going. So the word of warning here from a complete newbie is to be prepared for that blast and then you can get down to work.

This 20-pack of 5 Hour Energy in Pomegranate flavor is a very good value, in my opinion. I usually see these around $4 each in the store, so you do end up saving a good amount of money by buying in bulk. I love that these are sugar free and you're not having to drink an entire 12-16oz can to get a little energy boost. The pomegranate flavor is very tasty and these really do work. The average cup of coffee contains 95-100 mg of caffeine, so these really do pack a punch of energy at 230 mg. Better yet, I don't experience an energy crash as these wear off. Great to keep on hand for when I'm dragging, or if I didn't sleep well enough the night before. Good flavor, reasonable price, and a good product all around.

These are great for an afternoon pick me up. The shot size makes it convenient to carry in my purse or lunch bag or gym back. When the afternoon slump hits, it's great to have one on hand. I like the size. The flavors aren't my ideal flavor, but it's a quick shot. I don't mind it.

Really enjoy the product, but the pomegranate flavor just didn’t do it for me. Overall, it was great for the same impact that unusually expect from a 5 hour energy.

I like these 5 hour energy shots because they don't linger and don't always taste great but they're over quickly unlike an energy drink that you're required to sip on for a while. I'd rather get it over with quickly and be on my way. But these taste pretty good and are one of the better flavors of 5 hour energy out there.

You can't go wrong with the 5 Hr Energy drink brand and the pomegranate flavor had a pretty good taste. I don't drink these often - usually when I'm in the middle of moving and need the extra energy to stay up and pack or organize while unpacking. My boyfriend consumes energy drinks more often, so he was excited that these were the Extra Strength variety. Great value for 20 bottles compared to the individual prices you find at the gas stations or grocery store.

This gives you the "kick" that you expect from a 5 Hour Energy Drink. While I like energy drinks, I really like that this is a shot that you can use when you don't have time to sit and sip. The flavor to me is average, but definitely not bad. The price per shot is a little high (almost as much as cans of energy drink), so if that were better, I'd like it a lot more. Still, overall, a nice, slightly overpriced boost that's good to have on hand.
