I'm an elementary school teacher and picked this book up for my classroom library and I’m so gladI did! The kids gravitated toward it right away, especially my soccer-loving students. The biographyof Lionel Messi is written in a way that's age-appropriate, engaging, and inspiring. It sparks greatconversations about perseverance and following your dreams. The illustrations are bright and fun,and the two pages of real Messi facts at the end are a wonderful bonus. I’ve already seen studentsrereading it during quiet time. My son now keeps repeating random Messi facts to everyone � Highly recommend for boysand girls who love sports and need a little motivation!

This little book all about Messi was brilliant! I picked it up to read to my very young grandson, who loves soccer! He is aware of who Messi is, and he is wearing my Kindle out looking at the book and reading along where he can, but he is picking up more and more words with each attempt! That was a bonus for something that I just wanted to do with him. There were a slew of fascinating facts about Messi the man that I had never known. Admittedly, I have not been a perfect soccer fan, and reading about the challenges he faced to grow to where he is today is far more impressive than I had expected. This book is 100% worth picking up. Even an adult will learn something from it. I sure did!
Amazing Illustrations
This is a really cute book. I love the illustrations and they way they are laid is really unique. I have to say my hats off to the author as I loved the image where his head and legs were divided by a diagonal line. it is so creative and tells the story really well. I love how it shows kids that his journey was filled with the same fears as theirs likely are.
