I bought this because I love taxidermy and crystals. I wanted something small but curated that I could display. I'm also addicted to gacha so the mystery element was a big part of the appeal too.The set comes with 10 specimens, most in their own plastic display cases. They're all labeled so you aren't left wondering what you got. I enjoyed being able to handle the items as the none of the cases or jars are sealed. You can feel the texture and details for yourself which was really cool for the butterfly wing and the silk moth cocoon. I also got a trilobite fossil which was pretty sizable and not encased. Those were the most exciting pieces for me.The rest of what I received were mostly rocks and crystals. While they had a mild sparkle, they were fairly ordinary. I wasn't expecting 10 super exciting items but a few of them kind of just look like rocks from the garden. There was also a morel mushroom which I have a jar of in the pantry and some moldy flowers that don't really seem very special either.One of the display cases arrived cracked and I was missing a label on one vial. It didn't detract from the experience for me but may be something to note. The presentation is thoughtful despite some lack of quality control. The value was just okay for me. It may be worth it for the ability to interact with the specimens so it's more hands-on than just a decorative collection would be.There's a magnifying glass and moldable clay included, though the former feels very cheap and I’m not entirely sure how the clay is meant to be used.Overall, I’d recommend this to kids only. I wouldn't really recommend it as a display set for adults or a gift. It’s not perfect and the selection of crystals and rocks is a little underwhelming, but the few standout pieces and the interactive nature of the vials make it decently fun.
