5.0 out of 5 stars Great on hills, good speed, fantastic entry level electric bike.

    J.H. · June 23, 2025

It definately has speed and power. This is the Qlife Cityone 2.0. I was able to take it up a very long steep hill only using the throttle and it made it the whole way without peddeling. On a flat surface I got it over 27 mph and I weigh nearly 200lbs. Downhill even faster.I give it 5 stars for the price and what you get for the price. This bike is for my son and I hope to get at least 5 years out of it. The higher end bikes may come with a torque sensor, hydraulic brakes, and a place you can take it to get serviced. But the cheapest of those would be at least $1k.I tried the two YouTube videos and the included manual to get the bike assembled, but all 3 were incorrect. In the end, it was not too difficult. I got the bike with fenders, but they are not worth it. They are metal and bend easy, then rub against the wheels. There are many different types of fenders that will fit this bike that you can buy later if needed. Also, the front brake needed to be re-aligned (that takes 30 seconds if you know how). And the bike wouldn't go into 7th gear. Tuning the gears can be a bit of a pain but it's the same process on most bikes. We live in a very large hilly neighborhood and this bike is absolutely a blast riding around. With my sons freinds living spread out and the club houses a bit of a hike, getting around is a ton of fun. The bike looks great and has all of the basic features you need. I haven't drained the battery fully yet, but it feels like it there is plenty for antyhing you can do in a day. Well, unless you drove up a 20 mile hill only using throttle. That would drain any bike. I've taken it out for 3 days in a row for about 2 hours each and I didn't charge the battery... just checked... still two bars over half charged. This is absolutely a fantastic entry level electric bike!

Let's start with why THIS bike, and not another. Don't worry, I'll cover the bad points too!Value: Extreme value. 48V battery = many hours of fun. Many of the others in this price bracket only had a 36V battery. Not only is this a 48V, but it's a long life battery. I've never killed the battery yet.TIRES: Tires could be better. I hit a pothole on my street and the rear tire went flat. I examined the tube, and it blew out both sides of the tube. It's a royal P I T R to replace the rear tire, but it can be done.FRAME: Personally, I think the bike is too big. I'm 5'8" and it's a BIG HUGE BIKE! It will NOT fit into the back of a Honda Element for instance, without removing the front wheels. (Yes, you can lay ONE down sideways, but more than one requires wheel removal, and you won't get more than 3 max in the back, and that's going to be EXTREMELY tight. An Element has a HUGE interior. In short, you're probably going to need a bike rack or a FULL-SIZED CARGO VAN!!!Lets address the elephant on the room. THESE BIKES ARE HEAVY!!! I would like to emphasize an average guy would struggle to pick one up and throw it into a truck. I mean once or twice won't be an issue, but its going to get old REALLY fast. The battery can be removed to make it lighter.LOOKS: I chose these out of all the other styles because I do not want to be harassed by park people. This E-bike looks like a REGULAR beach cruiser bicycle. I further enhanced this look by covering the battery of each of my bikes (I bought 4) in REFLECTIVE VINYL. In day light the battery isn't screaming "E-BIKE!!!!!!" And at night the reflective gives extra safety benefits. It took about 4 minutes per bike to apply the reflective vinyl to the battery, and the reflective vinyl is more stretchy, so not only does it look better, but its easier to apply. Now they REALLY look like a plain old bicycle. I also bought LED lights for the wheels. They were like 16 bucks per bike, and they change color. Looks amazing at night! These bikes have a nice headlight too!!!SPEED: 3 of mine reach 28MPH on flat ground, with no issues. ONE of the bikes reaches 32MPH!!! No idea why the 4th bike was so much faster. If speed is your thing, buy the gray bike. No idea but it was a lot faster. The 2 white bikes and the yellow bike all reach 28.A WORD ABOUT SPEED: Its nice to have the top speed to outrun dogs, but most of the time you're gonna be cruising around 10 - 15MPH. In parks figure 8-10 MPH around people. The top speed isn't that important. Both my wife and my son wrecked their bikes in the first week. Son has a shattered thumb and 4 severely shreaded fingers, wife got a broken arm. So be careful on these. ESPECIALLY WHEN STOPPING!!!It's important to know the brakes stop the motors, so use common sense, wear helmets, and think ahead for stopping. Make sure you have a good footing when stopping so you don't fall over with the bike, especially if you're a smaller female like my wife. Her bike is honestly a little too big for her. I have the seat all the way down without the reflector.COLOR: All the colors we got are VERY bright and durable paint. The finishes are absolutely stunning EVEN (especially) the white bikes. It's a Pearlescent white!!! The yellow is mine, and it's my favorite, but even the gray looks really good! There is no bad color! ALSO: reflective vinyl (If you like what I did to mine) comes in every color that these bikes come in (unsure about the sea foam blue color.) Im 100% sure you can get reflective in white, silver, black (yes even black.. lights up in copper color), gray, and Yellow.TWISTED FORKS: Two of mine arrived with twisted forks/shocks. I spotted where others complained about this as well, but its NOT a total loss!!! Simply take a crowbar and place it in the right angle and twist, and the shocks move. The forks are NOT twisted! I know it looks like they are, but they are NOT. The shocks will twist, and then the front wheel slides right in! (HELPFUL??? Click it!)The only complaint I have is I hate the quick disconnect front wheels. 3 of mine have quick disconnect wheels, and one has plain old bike wheel. I like the plain one better, and I can remove and install it faster than the quick disc. I keep a dedicated wrench with a 15MM socket in the back of my element, and I can have the front wheel back on the bike in about 3 minutes (well worth it for a fun ride!) and I can have the bike back in the Element and strapped down with wheel off in about 6 minutes. Again worth it.STYLE: Theres various styles of ebikes. The others all scream ebike. This one don't so, this is the one I got, and I'm VERY glad I did.OFFROAD: Forget it. Seriously. It's called CITYone 2.0 for a reason. THIS IS A CITY BIKE!!! It's absolutely HORRIBLE on a rougher trail! Its heavy AF, and the shocks... uggh. On concrete, pavement, dirt, gravel, or even the most remotely maintained walking trails this will be fine, and you will LOVE it, but these bikes are rotten on roots and larger rocks. I don't trust them on much mud either, and due to their larger size, they don't do well on trails winding through tight turns around trees.Don't let the negatives scare you away.. I gave this bike 5 stars for a reason. Its the best bang for the buck out there. If you're young or old, and just want to ride around, check out the ladies walking the dogs, or strike up a conversation with a stranger (these bikes draw attention, and I've had many friendly conversations about them) then this is the bike for you. If you want family fun with adult children, these are for you. If you want to see more of your city, or more of the park than you ever have, these are for you. If you're tired of pushing a bike up a hill.. YEP! These are for you!The pedal assist is simple. 5 speeds. Each speed reaches a certain speed. While in pedal assist 1 you won't go over say 10MPH, in Pedal assist 2 you won't go over 15MPH, etc. Each PA can be locked in by holding the throttle and cruise control works for every pedal assist level. For instance, you can cruise around in PA5 at 28MPH if you want. It's an ingenious system that really makes sense after you use it a couple times. The cruise control is a game changer!I choose to pedal A) for exercise, and B) because it doesn't scream ebike when you pedal and C) it saves energy as takeoff is what pulls the most electricity..All in all, these are a blast. Even despite the injuries, I still recommend these CityOne2.0 bikes, and all 4 of us are anxiously awaiting the healed bones so we can resume riding again! Im searching for an old cargo van (also trying to fix my Sprinter Van) so I can carry all 4 bikes around to parks.BUY THEM!!! Get out and have some FUN! Get the wind in your hair!PS: Theres a way to NOT destroy the white zip ties. There are videos online showing how to remove them without damaging them, and I managed to save all but one of mine, and at current prices, I ended up with 30 dollars worth of zipties!!!! 15 zipties per bike (= 60, and some are 4 feet long). I love zip ties, and I cringe when people just cut them off... Like WHY???ALSO installation tip: Use an allen head SOCKET on a socket wrench, and throw the allen wrenches in your car. This is especially true for the fenders! I can't even IMAGINE the horrors of installing those fenders with the included allen wrenches! See the last pic and see the battery glow :) Plz Check helpful beside this review if you haven't yet.

I recently purchased the Qlife Cityone2.0 ebike, and while the end result is impressive, getting there took a bit of patience. Assembly wasn’t exactly beginner friendly, some of the instructions were vague, and a few of the parts didn’t line up perfectly right out of the box. It took me a couple of hours (and a YouTube tutorial or two) to get everything put together correctly. That said, once assembled, this bike really shines. The design is sleek and modern. The motor runs smoothly, the ride is comfortable. It definitely turns heads and feels solid on the road.If you’re handy or don’t mind a bit of a DIY challenge, it’s totally worth it. Just be ready to set aside some time and maybe have a few extra tools on hand. Overall, a great e-bike once it’s up and running!

I looked at many e-bikes and finally landed on this one. The color is gorgeous!! I love it! It did take a little bit to finally arrive but it was worth the wait. Also this bike does not add on shipping fees which many do. Some are $200 on top of the price. This was huge for me. Putting it together was not too difficult but some of the directions were not clear. No directions for putting on the fenders. We figured it out but it would have been nice to have at least a picture to see how they go on. But once we got it together it was amazing! We took it out for a ride right away and rode 4 miles. Very smooth ride and it was easy to change gears and speed. It reacted appropriately when I would push an increase or decrease in speed. Brakes worked well. I like that it came with two keys to remove the battery in case it would be lost. Would recommend this bike!
