5.0 out of 5 stars Not Exactly Like Acrylic Paints, but Mom and daughter approved!
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Today after church my daughter and I had some spare time paint with these markers on some old denim fabric scraps. We were waiting for dinner to friends house to begin. It was only a 30-minute wait, so we testing out these markers. I was very pleased, and so with my daughter. My initial thoughts are that this is a wonderful selection of colors!I love that there's a view window that allows you to see the ink levels.I love love that it comes in a carrying case. The case is about 12 in by 10 in. I'm doing that by memory so I may be wrong, but it's something thereabouts I do believe.I love that the font on the markers is very attractive and it actually reminds me of a name brand permanent marker.I love that every color is numbered on the end of the marker.I also love that the marker just requires a little shake and that the color will then immediately flow out easily. These are not like your standard acrylic paint where you can mix and layer colors and see a buildup of texture. There is some build up with the layering of colors but you can't exactly mix the colors. You just have to learn to overlay the colors by either pressing more heavily or lightly, but you will not get a bodied texture from this. The paint basically dries instantly, and it feels almost like you're drawing with a permanent marker than with a paintbrush, but it definitely is more rigid than a marker feels. Instead of bleeding into the fabric it mostly sits on the surface with a very subtle bleeding into the fiber. I don't know this a bleeding outwards so much, but I hope that tidbit of information helps you.I've only recently begun painting with acrylic markers, and I didn't know what to expect, but they are very convenient to have on hand. These markers can be enjoyed by children or by adults. Just make sure the child is mature enough not to write on themselves or poke it in their eyeballs!I've used this markers with myself and my children and my husband, and we all enjoy them! Some of us are more naturally inclined with painting and others of us do less of it, but in every instance, we all enjoy painting onto fabric with these pens. I haven't tried them on rocks or paper yet, but I'm sure they equally well a variety of other surfaces. You can buy these pens with confidence!JijPs. My pictures are on my other phone, so I will try to come back with those in the next few days.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great high-quality markers with good flow and no bleed through.
Great acrylic markers - no bleed through on thin paper, nice coverage even with lighter colors, nice variety of colors - especially lighter colors which is very handy!I really love the case these come in - it opens flat and the markers stay securely in place. I've had other cases where the markers are just loose so this is a definite step up. The markers have no discernible scent, they lay on the color smoothly and the lighter colors will mark over the darker colors fairly well. The colors dry pretty quickly, i wouldn't try blending though because markers aren't really made for that and you can end up contaminating the marker tips with the other color. Wait a few seconds to make sure the color is dry especially if you've laid color on thickly or in a large area. There is no bleed through, as i mentioned. This is good if you are using thin paper or a journal. I always do a quick sketch first thing when i get a new set, so i can see how they flow and whether they bleed over to the other side of the page or onto the next page. In this case, there is no bleed over at all and the page underneath is still perfectly white.I added some photos to show the case open, the handy color chart on the back of the case, my test sketch (with one of the pens next to it so you can see the ink level indicator - a fantastic feature), and the back of the test sketch showing no bleed through. You can see from the test flower that i've marked over the colors with another layer in spots to see how well the markers cover. You can also see the thickness of the marker - the stem is about as thin as you will get from these, so i'd say they are closer to a medium tip (not fine like a writing pen).I'm going to use these as general journal coloring, but also as a sketch layer on some of my acrylic paintings. Using markers is a nice way to sketch out your general design on a larger work canvas and because they are water-based acrylic pens you can just paint over them once you get the design the way you like it. I can also use these for embellishing little dots or colors here and there on some of my art pieces that do not require archival quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Use and Tons of Colors
I’ve gotten a few sets of acrylic paint makers in the past year. I ended up getting this set as it had a lot more markers than my other sets and it came with a reusable box. Last couple of sets didn’t and I ended up storing them in plastic bags after losing markers. This box is kind of a pain to close after using but it does the job better than a tuck box. Unlike previous sets these markers have thick tips and only one size tip. The color variety is huge and it can be hard to differentiate between similar colors. The paint markers have a nicer design. They have an ink filter system like nicer pens do allowing some control on how fast the ink flows. I noticed the yellow marker I chose start to struggle to keep up with the speed I was coloring and was able to shake more ink into the tip and continue coloring. This was quick and allowed me to keep coloring without having to pause and wait for enough ink to migrate to the tip naturally and the filter prevented too much from flowing to the tip. The pens seem to be well inked allowing me to continue use them for a long time. They are also numbered which hopefully means I can order replacements as needed as well. They seem to be durable.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price
One thing to note is that these are ZiBeef brand (a sub brand of Guangna). I selected these from the Guangna store and didn’t realize they were a lower quality marker. These are still good enough for the price that I will keep them. The coverage is decent, especially if you do a few layers over if you’re covering black lines. The paint has a tendency to pill a little, but it isn’t terrible. The case is nice. I’ve included photos with my swatches so you can see the actual colors you get in this pack.
