Reviewing CASTOIS Steel Toe Shoes for Men Women Safety Work SneakersOrdered size 43 (9 1/2 US Men's) and that's what is stamped on the bottom. They fit fine and as expected.Toe has ample room and my somewhat wide feet didn't feel cramped. For the most part, the inside surfaces are comfortable for bare feet -- with one major exception. When they arrive, the laces briefly run UNDER the tongue (see arrow in photo). Because the laces are very heavy duty, they quickly abrade bare skin on the top of the foot (drawing a small amount of blood).This rather horrid design flaw can be mitigated by rerouting the laces to avoid the topmost holes, or perhaps by wearing thick socks.The tread is wide and gives good traction.This shoe features an "indestructible anti smashing wide steel toe cap" for safety. I tested this by smashing a 5 pound mallet into the toe. The steel cap deformed slightly at the top edge toward the back of the shoe -- about a 1/8 inch downward deflection. It does not show from the outside, but can be felt distinctly from the inside. While in no sense would I call this "indestructible" the steel toes would definitely protect against dropping 40 or 50 pound boxes on them. So they are much better than ordinary sneakers.Bottom line, these shoes almost live up to their promise. If the laces are rerouted, they would be a solid choice for medium-duty safety shoes.

These are very comfortable work shoes for those needing foot protection but not necessarily the level of ankle support provided by a lace-up boot type work shoe. The level of ankle support is more akin to a high top basketball shoe so should be adequate for most cases. The shoe fits true to size (I wear a men’s size 8) with plenty of room in the protected toe box without the bulky look of a squared toe work boot. I have a relatively narrow foot but the wrap around lacing system that encompasses the instep allowed me to comfortably cinch up the shoe for a well adapted fit. I anticipate that those with wider feet can also be accommodated depending on how much you cinch or loosen the laces. The sole has a very aggressive tread pattern to be non-slip in a variety of environments and provides for great lateral stability due to its wide platform in the area of the heel and at the ball of your feet. Although I have not had to need to test the puncture resistance of the sole, it is reportedly protected with a kevlar type protective inner sole. The shape of the sole also allows for flexibility when kneeling and is quite comfortable. The metal toe box feels very rugged but is nicely contoured into the shape of the shoe. Speaking of the shape and appearance of the shoe, as shown in the product photographs, it basically has the appearance of a heavy duty sneaker or athletic hiking shoe. It also has the comfortable feel of a heavy sneaker or athletic hiking shoe as well. As such, depending upon your taste in styling, you get all the protection of a work boot (except for perhaps a little less lateral ankle support) without the utilitarian appearance of a conventional lace-up work boot. Overall this is an exceptional value for a nice comfortable pair of shoes that happens to be used as an alternative to the typical protective work boot. 5 stars.

These safety shoes were ok. I wear a size 8-9 in Women's my husband wears a 10.5-11 in men's. They only had the women's size 10 available, but I figured a little big would be fine as a needed a safety show ASAP for a project I was starting. I have naturally wide feet and I was swimming in these. They are extremely wide and way bigger than a women's 10. My husband tried them on, and they were just slightly too small for him. So, we are thinking they are about a 10 in men's, not women's. They do seem well made though with thick soles and a good protective toe. The material is thick and sturdy. They are also very squishy on the inside, so they seem like they would be comfortable for long days on your feet. The only downside is that with the thick sole, toe box and thick material they run a little heavy, but other than that they are great.

Picked these up for yard work and they’ve been exactly what I needed. I’m a size 10 and the fit is true. They’re comfortable right out of the box, and the reinforced design feels sturdy and well made—much better than flimsy slip-ons, but not as heavy or hot as full-on work boots. They still carry much of the heft of a work boot though; you won’t “forget” you’re wearing them, but not in a bad way.My feet don’t get too hot in these, which is a big plus for summer chores. I’m not a fan of clunky work boots, and this is a great compromise between that and unprotective sneakers. I have plantar fasciitis and these feel fine so far, though I haven’t tested them for an 8–10 hour shift—someone else can be the guinea pig for that. They have a kind of non-slip insole; it’s basically like little divots up around the ball of the foot. This feels a little odd to me, not uncomfortable mind you, just different.They came shrink-wrapped in thick plastic and were very well packaged to protect them in transit. Solid buy if you need something tough but comfortable for outdoor tasks. No pics for this one; they look exactly like the listing. Maybe a bit shinier.
