This ball is well made and the hose adapter to fill it works great. I bought another version of this ball and the adapter broke the first time. We had to use the adapter that came with this ball to fill the other one. The kids played with it the entire time they were in the pool.

Our entire family LOVES this plunge ball! We are having a family weekend and this has been in rotation with all 3 generations for hours. We decided to fill it with air first and then add water. It is hard to figure out how it can sink and float, but it does. My 7 year old grandchild loved playing with me for a good 30 minutes, the dogs loved pushing it back and forth with their snouts, the 3 year old pushed it around on top of the pool…..we all loved it.The brightly colored ball makes it easy to see and it is a constant attraction. I can’t think of many pool games where everyone from a 3 year old to a 75 year old can join in. Money well spent, it is too big for the dogs to bite it, fairly easy to push underwater, it is thick and doesn’t pop in the sun. Great purchase and would make a fantastic gift.

The HydroSport Plunge Ball is a thick rubber ball that you inflate with water. My 6 year old found it immensely fun to play with in the pool. I found that the ball works best filled with mostly water and just a small amount of air. I didn't do it this way but I would suggest starting by only adding water and seeing if there is enough air in the ball already to make it float just slightly above the surface. Don't leave the ball unattended while adding water. The inflation needle limits the flow of water so inflation is slow but the water pressure in most house would lead to a rather spectacular explosion if one forgot about the ball while connected to a water hose. Despite product claims to the contrary, I don't think the ball will sink fast even if fully filled with water. In any event, I would be sure to have a little air in the ball so it will float to the surface. It is pretty heavy and I am not sure if a pool net could lift it from the bottom.

I got this to play with my toddler in our pool and it worked absolutely fantastic for that! He was laughing as I pushed the ball towards him and he pushed/kicked it back. He also enjoyed when I threw it up into the air and it sank down to the bottom of the pool. I could also see this being fun with other older kids and even adults who want to toss the ball around under water. it is fairly heavy when filled with water, so definitely would advise keeping it in the water if playing with others.It was fairly straightforward to get setup,. There is an included garden hose adapter and a ball inflating needle with a rubber gasket on one side that goes into the adapter. You then just insert the needle into the ball and turn on the hose until it is filled with water. Super simple concept with a lot of replay value. I would consider this a staple pool toy for many years to come.
