I usually would clean my brushes with either a DIY brush cleaner recipe or use a substitute like baby shampoo or even dish cleaner. The substitute cleaners did a decent job of cleaning but I would be left with stiff bristles after. This makeup brush cleaner was able to remove a bunch of dried on makeup from the brushes and left them soft after drying. I actually like the squeeze bottle style because it allowed me to be able to control how much was dispensed out the top. I used the cleaner and a small silicone makeup brush cleaner bowl with raised bumps to help the cleaner really get in between the bristles and get all of the makeup. The price for the brush cleaner is currently $6 for a 4 oz container which I think is a great deal since you use so little for it to be effective.

Pros- Works so well on blenders, sponges! Very clean, quick, easy. Impressed.- Works great on brushes with a textured cleaning pad. Very fast.- Love no fragrance added. Slight clean smell.- Great price- Love the smaller sizeCons- Do not prefer the squeeze bottle with a center dispenser.- Terrible sticker on the top leave thick sticky glue residue. Finally came off with two rounds of 90% rubbing alcohol, but who wants to clean new product bottles? You have to clean it or it's going to have lint, hair, etc. in it.---------------More details if you need them:Pros:Works so well on sponges and was so quick. I used 2-3 small dribbles of this and my blender is more clean in no time - worked better than any other product I've tried. I poured this on a really wet blender, squeezed a few times (works into a lather), added a little water, squeezed. If needed, added a bit more cleaner, repeat and it is very clean with no sign of makeup anywhere. Very easy and very little effort.Works great on brushes when using a textured cleaning pad. Poured a small amount on a handheld pad and was able to clean several brushes in under a minute with a small amount of product. Not as effective using my fingers. I poured this on a blush brush, massaged with my fingers and rinsed. After two tries, the blush still had a tinge of pink and I spent a lot more time with this method. Textured pad is the way to go.The price is great!Cons:I don't like the center dispenser and squeeze bottle. The lid twists and the gel comes out of the middle when I squeeze the bottle. If I don't hold it perfectly upside down, the gel runs over the lid and needs to be cleaned off. It's messy and probably wastes a little bit of product. Also hard to gauge how much product is going to come out. A simple flip top on once side would be great.A sticker on black top part leaves sticky residue all over the top. Tried a few things and two rounds of 90% alcohol on a cotton pad worked. Hopefully they can rework this, because it's inconvenient.

A decent brush cleaner that works as described, meaning it’s a gentle cleaner and so as such doesn’t work as effectively for stronger, waterproof or old, residual makeup on the brush or sponge. It’s also priced well, because I certainly don’t like spending too much on just a brush/sponge cleaner.It’s only a 4.1-ounce bottle, which isn’t too big, but the consistency of the cleaner is more gel-like than liquid, so I found it doesn’t require much to clean my brush and should last for quite a while. It does have a light fragrance to it, but I haven’t found it to irritate my sensitive skin (either irritation or breakouts) after using this cleaner on my makeup tools.

I typically love elf products, but this was complete junk. I did not find it cleaned my brushes at all. It may have gotten a little bit of the surface make up off, but when I tried another brush cleaner that I had, I pulled out so much more make up from the brushes. If you want to thoroughly clean your brushes, I suggest you did not get this cleaner. This was the only elf fail. I have had so far

This is a fairly concentrated lathering gel detergent for cleaning make up brushes and tools. It cleans effectively and leaves no scent or residue. Unlike when I’ve cleaned paint brushes that have subsequently turned stiff, this must have some conditioning agent or water softener in it to help keep brush bristles soft. Performs well and would recommend.

I'm taking off a star because when I took off the tape from the packaging it left a sticky residue all over the top of it. And I also don't really like the squeeze bottle. Which is kind of funny because apparently it was changed from the previous bottle. It just feels a little bit messy and you do have to wipe the top.As for how it cleans, it does really well. I cleaned up brushes that had left on blush tint and it thoroughly cleaned those. It doesn't really have a smell. It just smells kind of clean. I don't have a sponge to test it on since I just threw my last one away.

a little goes a long way with this brush cleaner! i put a little in my little device and then submerge my brushes in it and it cleans nicely. It also does well when you do individual brush cleaning. The bottle is a decent size so you can use this for awhile. It lathers well and doesnt have a strong scent. I would use this again to clean my brushes!
