That is always a bonus when someone is quick to fix and error. The knife was well packaged, suitable for gifting, and the blade is well protected.The nice itself is crafted very well. The blade easily passed a paper slice test and shaving test. You want to handle this with care until you get a hang of it. Aesthetically the knife looks pleasing, both blade and handle. The pitting is done well without affecting the function of the blade. The handle is sturdy and smooth, with a nice finish. It sits well in hand and allows you to slice and chop safely.The sheath is so so, and despite having a belt loop I doubt it would survive many camping trips. I would suggest replacing the sheath if you plan on using it as a camping blade. If would suffice well for this as it will fillet, chop veggies, or slice meat very well. After some rigorous testing it held up very well without losing any edge.The price is only slightly higher than far cheaper quality blades, so it is an easy choice to make. You get a B+ knife at a C- cost!

I got this knife to take car camping, which requires a sheath of some sort and a diverse set of traits. This knife seems to fit the bill for that, although I'm not sure how long the sheath will last as it seems cheap and made out of this materials. The size of the knife is a strong point, with a fairly comfortable handle. The black pattern on the blade itself seems to be a paint of some kind, and honestly I'm not sure the purpose of it. If it starts to come off, then this knife is done for-but so far it's been pretty durable. It wasn't very sharp right out of the package, but after some time with a sharpening stone it seems to hold an edge fairly well. For a camping knife, it's been a solid performer cutting everything from bread to meats to fruits and everything in between.

Perfect Father’s Day gift! My husband was so proud of this knife. I haven’t seen him this excited in a bit. The cut is perfect! Felt comfy in his hand. Light weight but very durable. Very sharp. Outstanding quality. My husband works in the metal industry and said I did very good for someone that knows nothing about heavy metals. He’s absolutely loves it.

Considering how budget friendly this blade is it's really quite impressive. It has a nice even grind and is fairly sharp right out of the box. Requiring only a little fine tuning. The sheath is about what you would expect in this price range. Well sewn and fair enough to keep your knife safe, but I don't know if I would trust the belt loop enough to field carry it. It's not exactly the type of knife for a belt carrier anyway.The curvature makes for nice even slicing and the wood handle is nicely shaped and comfortable in the hand. I thought the hammering type texture would help it release foods more easily, but that feature is kind of "meh". It might help a little, but not noticeably different than other chef type knives.The one star deduction is for advertising it as a clever. It quite simply lacks the blade width and weight to work effectively as a clever. The spine curvature does provide a secure area to use your other hand to apply controlled pressure for thicker cuts and maybe pushing through small bones, but it's going to struggle with heavy cartilage or bones of any size. It's just a very nice deep slicer, and that's perfectly fine! You really can't go wrong for the price and it's worth keeping in the camp kitchen toolbox.

Why does a kitchen knife come with a belt sheath? My family on both sides were farmers until we lost the farms and we have a set of carbon steel kitchen knives passed down in the family, some of which were made by a blacksmith ancestor. This is pretending to be damasked steel with the black coating and treatment. I presume this is a marketing tool to get potential buyers attention. While this is not a cleaver style knife it is more like a bowie knife for the kitchen. It looks and cuts like a high carbon steel alloy. This means you must hand wash it and oil it to keep from rusting, but as long as it is not sharpened with a heavy hand it will last close to forever like the knives I referred to earlier, passed down in my family three generations so far. When my father was stationed on the California coast we did this several times a year. Now that I live back in Arizona (my favorite place he was stationed) for health reasons, I do this every year or two because there is low humidity and little to no salt in the air.As an older disabled female, currently with an injured hand from a work injury, I found this extremely easy to use and manipulate. It slices, dices and chops easily . The handle feels solid and the blade is well balanced for my hand. The handle reminds me of my silversmithing tools, so comfortable and perfectly fitted to my hand I stop noticing me using them and that they are in my hands. it is an excellent value for the money and at this price reminds me of my kitchen knives made for vitronix that use the steel scraps from their swiss army knives manufacture. You are not going to beat that metal quality until you get in to the $300 or more pricepoint or more each of my chef friends knives. They are lightweight, well balanced and strong. They are excellent for most of our usage.I will watch this brand and if they sell more knife styles, I will buy them.
