Does not hinder sound and operation. I am a Plumber and have always had issues with them falling out of ears regardless of type. These hook soft silicone ear grips are great. They are four sets and are labeled with an R or L to distinguish which side air pods it fits. The soft hook fits in the grove of your ear making very secure. These are great to use when exercising because you don’t have to worry about them falling off. They also come with a soft carrying case and a cleaning pen kit.
