Excellent quality, lovely price, machined beauty to behold, Piscifun fly reel will do everything other reels with eye-popping prices would do. I just took up on fly fishing, and initially, I bought from the seller 7/8 reel. Then 3/4, and 9/10 Sword reels from the same seller, because of the already mentioned qualities.4/5/6 reel came with the rod I bought in a big box store. better known as "can't-get-out-under-$200 store." I did not intend to spend an exorbitant amount of money to equip myself for this brand-new hobby. The build quality, mechanical function, appearance--all beyond my satisfaction as a novice.The 3/4 reel, paired with Eagle Claw Featherlite 3 (yeah, cheap, but so nice) works charmingly. If I am going up the Sierras, I am taking this combo. I do not imagine I will ever saltwater fly fish, but I just wanted to have 9/10 reel, for the sake of the ownership. With the 7/8 reel, of course, I am going to land some monsters in the future.I especially liked the drag on these reels, so sensitive and positive in braking, from barely noticeable to the full stop; and very quiet and easy to adjust. People say pre-loaded lines are garbage, but I find them very good for my purpose.I have not caught any fish with these yet, but I am practicing, and getting better each time. Fishes, quake in your little holes! I'll be coming after you!

I was a bit skeptical about a reel as inexpensive as this one...but figured I would give it a try. I wanted a few more large arbor reels for extra poles. I purchased both the 7/8 and the 9/10 line size reels.I've been very pleased with these reels so far. I've used them for several days fishing so far and the reels works great. It has a very smooth reeling action and the drag is very nice. The reel is very solid and seems to be just as good of quality as the $200+ reels I own. The overall construction, looks and feels very similar to my Hardy and Pflueger reels. So far, it was a great purchase for a good price. Time will tell if the bearings and the drag components have a long lifespan similar to the expensive reels. So far I'm really impressed with this reel. I honestly can't tell the difference between it and my expensive reels when actually using it other than it doesn't make any sound when reeling in, only when the line is being pulled out does it make the click sound. I actually prefer this to having to hear the clicking while reeling in.

This reel locks up tight, no slop with the spool. The drag is not so great. It is either locked up or free spool. Fishing this 3\4 reel in small creeks I really don't have a need for too much drag, but wish it had a better one. Also you need to be careful when letting line out or it will somewhat birds nest on you. a couple times I did need to let all of my fly line out and reel back in to fix this issue.

Honestly, I haven't used it yet, I just wanted to make sure I had a backup. Shipped fast and seems to be of good quality. I purchased a pre-loaded version and replaced the leader with furled and upgraded tippet. I plan on using my backup and may update review, but so far I'm pleased!

For the money, it's a pretty good fly reel. The build quality is really good. The drag is smooth and the tolerance of the build is excellent. I think only the design quality isn't there but that's reflected in the price. What I mean is the way the spool is just flat. It's got the cut outs for water to drain out and for drying out but it's flat. It doesn't really help with line retrieval. The handle is also aluminum, which makes for a solid handle but feels cold. Also a little too much grease. Other than those issues, the reel does provide a lot of value for the price.

Haven’t had the opportunity to fish with the reel. But it does look nice. The drag seems to work great. I wanted it mainly for blue gills. I am sure it will exceed my expectations.

The cork friction disc disintegrated in one and I recently contacted Piscifun. They didn't have any spare discs at the time but said they would send me one when they did. Two months later a package arrives with two replacement discs, now made from what seems like a synthetic weaved material... Superb service! The reels themselves have been good performers for me. Easy to take a part and maintain. The drag can slacken off over a days fishing now and again but this is a minor quibble. I use them with the Piscifun fly rod and have had many trout with this setup.

Great, inexpensive, beautiful looking entry level reel.
Got it in black on sale. Lined it with WF9F. Used it for 3 hours today. Great reel!! It’s light and feels well-built. I wish the drag had a click so you know how tight or lose you’re going, but it’s not a deal breaker. Still did the job better than I had hoped. I was worried about Piscifun but this is a great reel!

Well built and great drag system. Nice sound and quick line retrieving. I would recommend this reel.
Beware Line Capacity
On looking the reel looks good. But looks can be deceiving. Out the box it will look great and work perfect but will it last. It does have a light cheap feel to it. Only time will tell. Only just got it. The knob that you unscrew to take the spool off only screws onto a few threads so i dont know how long that will last with use.The main reason im writing this is to make people aware of the line capacity.I chose the biggest 9/10 size and if you want to use this for salmon forget it. I have a skagit 25ft head on with 100ft of mono and the mono takes up very little room. With this i could only manage to get 120m of 30lb line backing onto the reel which isnt enough for bigger fish of any kind.The capacity is the let down with this reel. If it was about 1/2ins broader then no problem but for a size 9/10 i dont know how they expect anyone to get decent line capacity on the reel at that size. Anyone using a 9/10 will most lightly be going for salmon. So this reel wont do for sufficient line. They should have made this size 9/10 a little broader and just add a little to the price.If fishing lower lines, heads ect for trout ect should be no problem. Just cant get a proper capacity of the right line on this reel for bigger fish.Overall it looks a nice reel but time will tell if it lasts. Theres not much to the reel to be honest. 2 Flanges and a centre pin that turns. But i,l see if it lasts with use.
