This kit that includes everything in one package seemed really convenient.It's got a standard 4x4 inch drawn metal electrical box, which is sturdy and has plenty of knockouts on the sides for running conduit or Romex cable. Inside the box, you get a 20 Amp single receptacle outlet, which is perfect for a dedicated circuit for a power tool or appliance. It also includes the matching 4x4 inch cover plate with a single opening for that outlet.Having the green pigtail grounding wire and the screw included is a nice touch and saves you from having to buy those separately. It truly is a convenient kit – just add your cable, tools, and know-how, and you have everything else you need for a single, dedicated outlet installation. It saved me a trip to grab individual parts. If you need to install a single 20 amp outlet and prefer metal boxes, this kit makes it super easy by providing all the main components together.

The galvanized steel box is as good as all the others I have used, There aren't any unique features about it that make it stand out, but its simple design allows it to blend in with other items in surface mount applications. The knockouts are easy to remove, and they are sized for common 1/2 inch NM and conduit connectors. The receptacle appears to be rugged, and it is easy to wire using its screw terminals. The inclusion of the ground stinger (pigtail or jumper) makes its installation easier since a stinger doesn't have to be made in the field. With the rising cost of building products, including electrical and plumbing supplies among everything else, this seems to be a bargain.

Nice kit. My only reluctance is that it's a slightly odd choice. It's a 4x4 shallow box and what's needed is just a single gang box. If you have the space to waste go for it. But it honestly could have been a single gang box to save space and material. You can find the single gang boxes and wall plates available here online and in stores. Just be aware that the simplex round 15 and 20s each come in two possible diameters and you'll want the simplex outlet and cover plate to be the same size circle to fit and match.

This is a convenient kit but is actually priced a little higher than the individual parts at the home stores. The quality of the box and cover is about the same as the popular name brands, though the inside edge of the box had some sharp burrs that are sure to be an issue if you are not careful. The outlet on the other hand has no UL listing as I can see. It also has no back wire option and does not have the strip tool in the ears - though neither is a real problem. I would hardly all this "commercial grade" as it says in the listing. The box is the shallow (1 1/2") version so do not "overload" it by running too much current through it. I learned recently that the size of the box determines how many wires you can connect inside according to the electric code. This did work OK to add an outlet to power my workshop heater on an existing 20 amp circuit. Do not do what I have seen some people do and connect a 20 amp outlet to a 15 amp circuit, but then that comes under the "know what you are doing before starting a project" heading!

This is a complete kit for a 20A single outlet box. The 4"x4" galvanized drawn metal box has 16 knockouts and a metal lid with screws. The included outlet receptacle is easily installed to the box and the included green grounding wire completes the install. You must supply the power wiring and tools. The included wiring diagram is easy to follow.Would recommend this to anyone.
