Personally I think this bread pan and all the extras that come with it deserve 5 starts. It has made great loaves of bread. The sling seems big but I’ve had slings that are too small and that was a much bigger problem. I realized that I was wrong and the bigger sling is actually better

I ordered this to make my no knead bread recipe in a shape that would be better for sandwiches, and expected only the covered pan and silicone sling. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it also included a scrub brush for cleaning the pan, a danish dough whisk, bench scraper, bowl scraper, and a bread lame with blades and a cover! The dough whisk is a game changer but I already had one and most of the other items, too. Still a nice surprise. I haven’t used the pan yet but it appears to be typical cast iron and I don’t foresee any issues. Can’t wait to bake some more bread!Edited to add that the silicone liner is too large to fit the pan. I tried using it and it made a lopsided loaf. I will not be using it again.

The media could not be loaded. I am very happy with this cast iron dutch oven. I wanted a cast iron dutch oven in this shape and size that could tolerate up to 500F. This tolerates up to 1000F so that leaves plenty of wiggle room. I preheat my dutch oven to 500F and let it heat at that temp for 30 minutes (lid on). This helps create steam later and nice, toothsome crust on my sourdough bread. This dutch oven is very easy to clean. You just wipe it out with a little olive oil or other food grade oil from time to time. This dutch oven has never had an off gassing smell, even the first time I used it. High quality item that is essential for my sourdough bread baking!

Very heavy. Just be aware. It said 11 pounds. I t was the lightest I could find. But I was hurting myself to lift the box I knew it wasn't something I could use for baking. I bet it makes great bread but sadly I bought a very small pizza stone instead. All dutch ovens are heavy. The stone will be heavy enough at 5 pounds. Luckily I don't need my crust to be that super crispy loaf you see in videos. I like it soft and chewy and I found a ceramic baker thats 5 pounds too if I want the crispy crust. I love the cast iron but there's just no way; they're too heavy.

Very heavy. Just be aware. It said 11 pounds. I t was the lightest I could find. But I was hurting myself to lift the box I knew it wasn't something I could use for baking.
