The kit is a great price effective way to repair your chair. Why La-Z-Boy doesn't incorporate this is beyond me. My only critisism of the product is total lack of instructions or video. This can be installed in more than one way so you need to double check your work. Even with this it only took me 20 minutes to perform the fix.

The parts work and are well constructed. I would give zero stars for installation instructions. The parts are a giant puzzle that will take you a long time to figure out...unless you're really lucky. If the company would provide a simple install sheet the job would be simple. The key to an easy install is to make sure the chair is in closed position. Because if it is extended at all the plate will not install correctly. There are several bushings included but to install them you will have to remove the bar that holds everything together or you'll need to cut one side so they can be installed over the rod without removing it.Bottom line is the parts work and are well made. But installation is a PITA. Have fun.

This item was a replacement part for a Lazy Boy recliner chair that had failed. While the part was superior to the original part there were NO instructions or diagrams to show how it should be installed. Installation took almost 2 hours whereas it should have taken no longer than 20 minutes.

Perfect fix for cheap plastic Layz-boy recling parts. As it turned out I didn't need the wide yoke. Should have investigated more before ordering...you can buy each part separately.
Works perfect (after you figure it out)
As others have stated there are no instructions. Hopefully these pictures & a few hints will help you. 1-we took the cotter pins out to expose the part attached to the square rod. We didn't pull the rod out, instead we cut it off with a dremel tool & pried it off 2-foot rest is in the closed position & the piston also fully closed. 3- to put the black caps on the square rod we just cut a slit on them & slid them on. 4-the pictures were taken in the closed foot rest position. 5-we put it together, plugged it in, opened & closed in short bursts (only to find we put the square rod part on wrong & had to fix). 6-make sure the "fin" on the toggle is set so it's closest to you. 7-if everything is working smoothly make sure to grease all parts with lithium grease.
