I kept looking at some of the Stainless-steel Tabletop grain mills and reading reviews of how they can be hot to handle after a few minutes of grinding. After a few weeks of think about this much needed investment; I purchased this product. I want to grind wheat to bake a healthier flour/bread product. The Metal Grain Mill Attachment with guide is easy to attach. Less expensive than the one sold elsewhere. It fits my Classic Kitchen Aid stand mixer and I am impressed with its performance! I selected the Fine grind setting and fine I received! The instruction booklet provides detailed functionality; Pictures and words; the hopper handles several cups of dry rice/wheat/barley etc. And it is simple and easy to clean. I put through 2/3 cup of long grain dry rice to absorb the light mineral oil that the manufacturer place on the worm grinder's gear/ wheel; the grinded rice absorbed that light mineral coating making it easy for its first cleaning using the included brush and a clean towel. This hopper can handle several cups of dry grains! I'm looking forward to grinding some wheat this weekend! At this capacity you should be able to grind what you need in a short amount of time! And get down to baking! It does make an average amount of noise, about the level of a kitchen hand mixer (I think much less than a vacuum cleaner sound) and I think I have made a smart investment! Yes, I recommend this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Grain Mill for home milling with your Kitchen-Aid
The media could not be loaded. This is my first experience with this Kitchen-Aid grain mill attachment. It actually works better than I had expected. I thought it would be very slow and not capable of making nice fine flour from hard white wheat berries. I was wrong. This attachment is able to make very fine flour.Some tips after my first use, although I am pretty sure these are covered in the description/directions from manufacturer/seller. First, when you attach this to your Kitchen-Aid (mine is the Professional 5 plus for reference) ensure that you install it all the way in as shown where I am pointing in picture two. Then, make sure you tighten the set screw to hold it in place very tight so it does not move around during grinding. I found if you do not tighten the set screw well, the vibration from my mixer running and the mill grinding can cause it to losen up. The key here is to be sure it is stabilized so that while it is running it won't wiggle or move.As per the instruction, if you want fine flour, it is best to send the berries through once to mill them into course flour (I used level 5). Then send them through a second time for fine flour at level 1. It worked great. I used the number 1 speed setting on my mixer which on mine is called "stir". After a little experimentation I found slow and steady worked great. In the video you can see the output. It is actually not too slow, it was steady, and my mixer did not get hot, just slightly warm after milling around 2 1/2 pounds of hard white wheat berries.The first 2 jars in the last picture are milled to very fine flour, and the 3rd jar is at level 5 setting for more course flour and the final small jar is what is left of the 4 pound bag of wheat berries. I will be making some simple bread with this freshly milled flour later today.I will update this review if I run into any issues with this attachment. But first use, I am very happy with it and it exceeded my expectations!

It works, but if you have a coffee bean grinder just use one of those instead. Not worth the hassle of getting it set up, and the coffee bean grinder is much faster.

This one works much better than the actual “Kitchenade” brand model that sells for twice the price. I bought this after I gave my sister my old kitchenade model trying to save a few dollars but this is definitely the one to buy. It mills Hard white, red fife, and einkorn berries faster and better. Clean up is the same as the other model. Save some $ and buy this one. BTW I still mill my hard white twice, once on 6 and finally on fine setting. These berries are too large to mill on fine initially.
