This inflatable pillow is comfortable and easy to inflate, but it has some questionable design choices that make certain features less practical.Design: The package includes two main pieces: a pouch containing the pillow and a hot/cold pack, though the included instruction sheet doesn't mention the pack. The top of the pouch has two elastic bands and the bottom of the pouch is sewn to the pillow. However, there is no closure device for the top of the bag, which seems like an oversight. After pulling out the pillow, the pouch needs to be turned inside out to allow it to lie flat. The back of the pillow has a large plug for inflation/deflation. There are two large plastic clips at the edges of the pillow to hold the pouch against the bottom of the pillow. However, the clips don't line up well to secure the pouch. We found that rolling down the end of the pouch helped with the alignment.There is also a 5" wide slot on one edge of the pillow's top side. It's not clear what the purpose of this slot is for - the hot/cold pack is too large to fit through this opening.Size: When inflated, the pillow is approximately 17" wide x 11" tall x 5" thick. When deflated and stored in the pouch, it is approximately 7.25" wide x 8.75" tall x 1" thick.Appearance: The top and bottom of the pillow are aqua color and sides are dark blue. The pouch and elastic straps are gray. The hot/cold pack is dark blue.Usage: The pillow is easy to inflate, taking about 4 to 5 breaths. The plug works well for keeping the pillow air-tight. My son used this pillow on a scouting trip over the weekend and he said it was very comfortable. However, the pillow makes some noise when shifting positions. The smaller size also seems better suited for children than adults. Deflating the pillow and fitting it back into the pouch was a bit of a hassle.Later, we tried using it with the hot/cold pack. Based on the size of the pack, it seems it is intended to fit into the pouch strapped against the bottom of the pillow, but there is nothing else to hold the pack in place. As a result, it is prone to slipping out of the pouch. We will likely never use the pillow with the hot/cold pack - it seems more like a novelty than a practical feature. That said, the hot/cold pack is well-made and will work well in a cooler.Final thoughts: This pillow is comfortable and we'll continue using it for future camping outings. However, the hot/cold pack will get relegated to cooler duty.

This is an inflatable pillow you could use in the car, maybe on a plane, probably for camping. The inflation nozzle would accept one of the mini-inflator products to inflate without blowing into the pillow. If you don't have one of those, it took me 3 breaths to fully inflate. Inflation has a backflow control so you can get a firm inflation. Deflating is just pulling the entire inflation contraption out.There is an included gel pack to refrigerate and use as an "ice pack" for your head. The pack inserts into a slot in the cover. But there is nothing to hold the pack in place inside cover and it slid around quite a bit as I tossed and turned. I do not know if that is TSA-safe if you want to use it on the plane. And the gel would need to be frozen to provide any useful cooling effect.The cover was very slick in that it was hard to grip and plan. I had to use both hands to position and move it.I slept on this in my regular bed and it was still fairly firm after 8 hours. Given the air loss I expect I could sleep on this 2 nights before I had to re-inflate. For camping where you would want to deflate every night, that's not an issue. Otherwise just plan to checking the firmness every night.A storage pouch enable stuffing the whole thing into an attached bag. The "fits in your pocket" would be true if you have a gigantic pocket. I've never owned a pair of blue jeans that have a pocket big enough to hold this pillow when it's stuffed into its bag.The bag is attached the pillow both by being sewn on and with a couple of strap that fit into plastic hooks. If you place your arm under your pillow while sleeping, like I do, that is a bit uncomfortable.This could be used in the car, on the plane, in the tent and even the sofa if you wanted. As an air pillow it is serviceable but there are better options for an every-night backpacking pillow.
