It also includes a usb/micro sd adapter so you can save the recording to a hard drive.

When I ordered this I couldn't find the tapes I wnated to copy, but I recently did. I put the tapes in the player and it was very easy to get it setup to record them. It also allowed you to listen simultaneously via headphones or a built in (kinda bad) speaker. Once it was done and I put it on the computer, I was able to pickup details I'd never heard before on the tape. It was a tape from when I was a 3 year old in England in 1979, and there were other people on the tape I never realized were on there. That included recordings of my dad i never knew existed. The device worked perfectly, and I have a few more tapes to do. I wish I still had some of my old tapes from when I was a teenager to listen to in this thing.

This is a pretty cool little gadget, that fills a need for someone like me. I have quite a few old mix-tapes and some recordings my daughter made many years ago when she was little. I haven't had a cassette player for more than 20 years, but I have wanted to listen to some of these old recordings. With this handy device, I can play my old tapes, but more importantly, I can convert them to a digital format. The conversion process is fairly simple: insert the cassette tape, press play, and press the digital record button. You do have to wait for the recording in real time - there is no speed up capability. Also, note that there is no audio correction applied. The recording will not be any better than the original, which was fine for my needs. I was actually surprised that the recording quality was as good as it was. This unit is lightweight and compact - similar in size to the old walkman devices. Opening the door to insert the tape was a bit finicky for me. It seems to get stuck and takes a few tries to get the door open. I do like that they provide a small SD card for storing the recordings, but one downside is that I need to remove it and insert into the included SD card reader for transferring to my PC. It would be so much more convenient if the created recordings could be accessed from a PC through the USB port. Unfortunately, that port is only used for charging, and doesn't provide any connectivity. The battery life was plenty good for my use, and it's easy to keep the device USB powered if necessary. This handy gadget allowed me to digitize all of my old cassette tapes, and listen to them anywhere an mp3 file can be played. It's easily worth the cost for preserving old memories.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great unit with a few minor drawbacks, but the positives much out way any negatives.This thing comes with a 16gig SD card to make mp3 recordings from cassettes to, or you can just use an audio cable from the headphones jack straight into the mic port on a laptop to copy your old cassettes. The recordings sound fine.Whats super fun about this company is they include stickers, and a fold-out funny comic that you can send a photo into them and they will send it back with your picture included into the comic! Who does that?! So super bonus points in that area.Also i found the mono speaker on the front louder than expeted. The included ear-bud wired headphones come with different sizes of covers. I do wish this thing had Bluetooth though, but i guess the white wired earbuds have a retro touch to it. But it would of been better with Bluetooth too so i could send the signal to some Bluetooth speakers if needed or my Bluetooth headphones.But i got this thing to back-up my old cassettes that are deteriorating from my childhood anyway and not for daily music listening. I haven't heard lots of these cassettes for 20-30 years! And the wired earbuds are very high pitched and you can hear every hiss & pop of the cassette tape itself. So some wired higher quality headphones will be better for me in this situation.Cons: Well, most OG Walkman style cassette players can play in both directions. This does not, so you have to physically flip the tape, instead of just letting it play the other direction on the other side internaly.Also recording voice audio with the built-in mic to the SD card is a nice touch, but its wonky how it works. Checkout the instructions in my photo from the instructions manual. You click Record to start recording, but press Play to stop the recording, then click "Record" to Play-back the recording?! Who thought of that?! I tested it out as i thought it was a mis-print in the instructions but thats exactly how it works. Why would the Record button be the playback button?! Very wonky.Also, if the SD card is inserted it will start playing as soon as you turn the unit on. If you are playing a cassette and stop it, whatever is on the SD card will start playing. The only way to stop it is to turn the unit off or eject the SD card to popped out position. Very wierd. Why didn't they just make it Start Playng when you hit Play?!And, Another wonky thing is that it has a digital readout of the time playng in i supposed seconds. But it moves forward at the same exact speed when you fast-forward the cassette tape and does not move foward faster than when in normal playback. And if you stop the tape it resets to zero evey time..so not really much use there. And you Cant fast-forward the mp3s on the SD card at all. You can only skip to next track or jump foward 10 tracks, but cant skim foward the one you are listening to. Thats annoying. If you want to go back and hear a part again you have to go to very beginning and listen to entire song. Well I guess thats why the main use is to just record the cassettes to SD card then transfer the mp3s to your phone or computer and use them from there. And its good it has a battery meeter. No old-skol cassette players had that. You just used it until the batterys wore out and had to buy new ones. This has a usb-c internal rechargeable battery! Much better.Besides all this nonsense, it serves the purpose and i can back-up some of my favorite old tunes that are hard to find on streaming services. Thanks guys for this gizmo!

I got this as we have from old cassette tapes from long ago I wanted to convert to MP3 so we would not have to be concerned about the tapes going bad.I tested it out today and was very pleased with the results, the sound recorded to the MicroSD card was very clear and I could transfer the MP3 to my computer and then to our phones from my computer.I would take off 1/2 star if possible for the USB device as I could not get my computer to recognize it, it would appear for a couple seconds and disappear, so I just put the MicroSD card in an adapter I had to be able to load into my computer.I like that it is rechargeable as well as being able to play from the MicroSD card also.

Easy to use. USB or built in battery for power. Time of tape about 60 min for 30 min side a and b so on when recording start 1 then 2 then 3 if you stop after song or if leave it do 60 min tape side a then will be 1 and 2 for tape, next tape same length 3 and 4, remember after recording sd you don't have fast forward only when use tape pick next track. Sound good both sd and tape amaze tape made 1976 sound grate but all tape remember some tape can sound low as made that way one record. Did bus ride back up tape 1hr batteries in still had full bar nice. Did have Bluetooth 3.5 mm jack transmitter use full didnot take to much room so I could put inside coat pocket to earpod save on cable, dose have nice speaker play down stairs quietly room and can be heard upstairs past halfway. Tape will stay in so no way pop out when not playing. One last thing when stop tape 2 sec play sd card unless you turn unit off, rec by mic or tape hold record 2 sec see it on screen if tape stop or press stop save sd card not yet put sd card in pc 16 gig card might need better card and back it up just in case. Last thing backing tape is 1 speed, 30 min tape going to 30 min. So if want to back up tape can at home or out about.
