I work in a nuclear generation facility. It is a very loud environment day to day. A requirement is to wear hearing protection in many areas, there are tethered foam earplugs provided by the facility, but wearing them is sometimes uncomfortable and a nuisance. The tether either sticks to your neck, or catches on something which then dislodged one or both of them causing you to have to remove gloves, and re roll and install them back in your ear canals. They're cheap and disposable, but also kind of a hassle.These ear plugs are a better option. They're much more comfortable than the disposable ones, and they stay in place much better. The array of silicone ends to custom fit them to your ears makes it easy to get a very comfortable wearing experience. They mute the noise quite well, yet allow you to hear conversations while wearing them. The disposable ones tend to make conversations muddy and hard to get clear understanding during communication with other workers. These also come in a plastic carry case that you can slip in a pocket, or attach to a neck lanyard. They include a bonus pair for a backup in case you do lose or misplace them. They are a decent ear plug, and a decent price that is a much more comfortable way to protect your hearing.
