So glad I found this solution. My parent split their time between houses in two different states. Typically they send a quick text to let the family know they made it safely from one destination to the next, but sometimes they forget or they arrive late. I purchased this solution to have a quick, easy, and completely non-invasive way to check in with them to see if they're at "home" in the state I live in, or "away" and at the other house.I love that this solution has been thoughtfully designed to look like a regular outlet, and that you do not lose a power outlet when you plug these in. In a home where power outlets are sparce, I was able to plug the Threshold solution in and can still plug whatever my parents wanted or needed into the Motion plug that requires power (like a floor lamp, fan, or charging station)I was on the lookout for a solution that was non-invasive and blended into the rest of the home. My parents did not want (nor did I) a home security camera or something similar that was installed inside their home so this is a perfect solution. With the app, I can just quickly check my phone to see if motion was detected at their place and know they're home safe and going about their day. The inverse is also true. For example, if I know my parents are out of town, and I check the app and see that motion has been detected at their place, then I know there's someone there that likely should not be.The plugs were very simple to install and just plug directly into an existing power outlet. I only had to input my Wi-Fi credentials once in order to get the system added to my network and then the other two sensors were able to be brought online from a trusted network.This is an excellent, non-invasive way to quickly and easily check-in on the well-being of my loved ones and provides me with great peace of mind knowing they're safe.

DO NOT BUY UNTIL YOU SEE PEOPLE REPORTING THE APP ACTUALLY WORKS. Made the mistake of buying before reading reviews. The app (iOS) simply does NOT work. You add a residence, it then makes you scroll through a very unintuitive list of timezones, then you add a zone, then it says the residence was added and makes you add a residence. Then the app freezes up. When you kill the app and start again, everything you spent the last 5 minutes doing is gone. Shame on them. When you try again (and like me, a third and fourth time) and you get the same failed results, shame on me. Returning. This had such promise in the product description, but DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

The media could not be loaded. I got one of these products and installed them in my parents’ apartment in Taipei on my recent trip there.Being a relatively new technology, I am pleasantly surprised how well WiFi-sensing works and how accurate the motion detection is. While I was there, I verified that the motion were accurately detected and when we left the apartment there would be an absence of motion. It aggregates motion so is near real time but does not display the motion realtime. Not a big problem for me.One thing that was slightly counterintuitive versus other sensors I’ve used is that unlike standard motion sensors or cameras, it is a none line-of-sight technology, so I had to think a little differently about how best to install it to get the best coverage in the apartment. I shared a video to show my install.Overall, the install was easier than expected and it works better than I expected. It gives me a peace of mind living across the ocean from my parents. And most importantly, my parents are happy with having it in their home. So far so good, will report back if anything changes.
