This house is big, bigger than most other options. My almost 4 year old will be able to play this this for several yearsThings I love…-The aesthetics, it is really a pretty little house-Sturdy and well made-Quality of material is great. Free from chopped paint or warped wood. Every bit and piece was accounted for and in good shape-My package arrived 4 days early! I would never expect that to happen for an item of this size. Boxes (yes, 2) were large and one was quite heavy-The level of detail is pretty wonderful for a little kid house. From the shingles on the roof to the interior attachments to the decorative paneling on the dormer, this thing is the real deal-All pieces were clearly marked and extremely well packaged-Pre-drilled holes are a dream although I had to get out a tall stool to get enough leverage to drill the roof and dormers. I’m 5’7 for reference, this thing is tall! Now for the cons..- I put this together mostly on my own. It took me nearly 4 hours a day for 3 days. Instructions say 3-5 hours but I’m certain that would require 2 people continuously working on it to achieve that timeline- The level of detail is amazing but be advised that means you will be working with a zillion pieces of hardware, come up with a system and stick to it to avoid losing parts and getting frustrated at the number of times you have to switch drill bits throughout- The visual instructions are really well done but they lack more than “Flush to edge” in terms of description. Great if you’re a visual person but you REALLY have to study each photo carefully to ensure that you don’t have to take pieces apart and switch them part way throughOverall, extremely happy with my purchase. Definitely on the spendy side with many lower cost options available but I think you get what you pay for most of the time and we will get many many years out of this before our kiddo grows out of it. I love the look and quality and highly recommend this for a toddler - Be sure to have a 2nd set of hands and hopefully you’ll be able to put it together more quickly.
1.0 out of 5 stars Damaged wood
This product had several severely cracked pieces of wood which made it very difficult to finish assembling and there are so many pieces. I did not realize that some of them were broken until I had 3/4 of the house put together.I expected a better product for the amount of money that it cost
4.0 out of 5 stars Playhouse
Pros:- This house is big enough for older children (5 and 8 here), and tall enough for a 6' adult to stand inside. Most other houses in the market, while cheaper, are probably best suited for smaller toddlers.- The factory white and black color combo has universal appeal and a more polished look vs the brown wooden, cabin look. We opted to modify it a bit for a more delicate look, and the process was easy since most of the house is already white by default.Cons:- It is pricier than others.- Some sections of the wood show small damages, and discoloration. Nothing that affects the functionality or structural integrity of the house.- There are lots of parts once you open the box and can seem overheleming. But we found the instructions to be very clear, all parts were labeled clearly and correctly.FYI: this house is shipped in two boxes. Make sure to check that you actually received Box 1 of 2 and Box 2 of 2. We first purchase this from the Home Depot ( sold by Kidkraft) and they delivered two boxes of the number 1 box. The process to obtain Box 2 of 2 would have taken too long, defeating the purpose of this being a birthday present. So we ended up returning the whole thing to HD and purchasing it again through Bolo.- Box 1 contains 95% of the house, Box 2 has the roof and the clocks. So if you end up receiving Box 1 first, know that it's possible to start building while waiting for Box 2.- If you opt for a color makeover for any of the bigger areas ( walls or roof) an outdoor paint with roll or brush will be better/ faster than spray cans. We used rustoleum painters touch 2x (Roof: Flat White, Door: rustic pink (matte), Windows and Sink: Blossom white (satin), Faucet: Universal metallic gold, Roof accent: Dusty Rose (matte, low odor). Again, especially for the roof, paint and brush/roll would have been better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Find
I was initially hesitant to purchase this playhouse due to some of the mixed reviews, but I decided to take a chance—and I’m so glad I did! Overall, I’m super impressed with the product and would absolutely recommend it to others. My kids have been loving it! Here are a few things worth noting that others have mentioned as well:• QUALITY: In my opinion, the quality is great. We did receive one slightly cracked piece, but it was easily fixed with wood glue. The paint has a matte whitewashed look, which seems intentional rather than a flaw. The wood is real and feels appropriate for a set like this.ASSEMBLY: It’s definitely a project. My husband, who’s pretty handy, managed to put it together in about 4 hours. There are a lot of pieces, but organizing the screws and parts ahead of time made a huge difference. If you're not experienced with woodworking, expect to put in some effort. I couldn't find it noted, but this would be impossible to do with a power drill - be sure you have one of those!SIZE & VALUE: It’s on the pricier side, but it’s also larger than any other playhouse we’ve seen. Both of our kids have plenty of room to play inside, and we’re confident we’ll get a lot of use out of it.CUSTOMIZATION: We already love how it looks, but it’s also a great blank canvas. My husband and I are excited to add some personal touches to make it even more special.
2.0 out of 5 stars Low Quality
Wood is worn, looks used, see pics, these anre right out of the box annd it looks like it’s been beaten in for years. Instructions aren't entirely clear. Build time took ~6 hours with 2 people. The hinges are very low quality and don’t hold the roof pieces together, needed to purchase my own to make it work.
