She hasn't had them long enough to be able to tell if they are protecting her hair, but they fit perfectly. Others that I have purchased elsewhere have been too big and fall down over face, which can be a suffocation hazard.

Bonnets are great not to loose and not too tight for my child’s head she loves them they are such good quality the silk is perfect and so smooth

I got this for my daughter at about 7-8 months and she does have a smaller head for her age but it fit perfect. She has a bald spot that I wanted her to use the bonnet to help with it. It did help her some but honestly just getting her to sit unsupported and not laying down on blankets helped more. It still fits her ant 10 months and looks so cute! It also does fall down a little when their head is smaller.
