5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for organizing my many tea bags
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Very pretty box for my many teas bags. Keeps the tea bags so organized in one small area.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very beautiful, amply sized tea box!
This is a really beautiful way to store tea out in the ope. The first one I received was very poorly packaged and came completely damaged, but I requested a replacement and it was on my doorstep in 2 days. The second one came is great condition. This also holds quite a bit of tea. All of the tea we had in several holding boxes actually, with extra room for our tea tins as well! We are really happy with this!
3.0 out of 5 stars Top doesn’t open wide enough to stay open without holding it.
This is an attractive, fairly large, wooden box that holds lots of tea bags. The six compartments are usefully sized so that normal size tea bags can be stored facing forward and extra large tea bags (like those for our green tea) can be stored facing sideways. That said, we are NOT USING this box - and would return it if we had purchased it - because of one major flaw: the top does not open all the way. The photo shows the maximum amount the box will open and that you have to hold it open with one hand as the top cannot stay open by itself.
4.0 out of 5 stars Acacia Wood Tea Bag Organizer
The media could not be loaded. This new storage organizer can store individual tea bags or when the base divider is remove can serve as a storage box. At this time I can move from individual boxes to one organized box.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, well constructed solid acacia with beautiful grain
Actually got this because I love solid acacia wood boxes for different uses. I got another one that was originally designed for tea but I'm using it as a jewelry box because it works perfectly for that purpose. This one I'm planning to use in my office for holding office supplies like Post-it notes, paper clips, Etc. I have a drawer full of tea and I already have one clear topped bamboo tea bag holder towards the front of the drawer so I can easily open it and access a variety of tea bags that I put in there to have a selection and then I keep the semi-fold boxes towards the back of the drawer. This is the proper height so it would fit into a kitchen drawer and not have to be kept on the kitchen countertop, but you would have to pull out the drawer pretty far to be able to open the lid of the box. So yes it would serve well as a tea bag holder whether for countertop or kitchen drawer use. It also has lots of other applications, so even if you don't need a tea bag holder, you can come up with lots of other uses for this. The divider section inside the box is completely removable although the slats do not separate from each other so either you have the dividers in the box or you take it out completely. The top is held closed with fairly strong magnets which are a bit Superfluous in this application because the 4 magnets do make the lid much more challenging to open. The magnets don't really add any benefit in my opinion. I wish theyweren't there because it does make the lid more challenging to lift up. You have to grab it from both sides and pull up words on the lid while holding the base down. In a drawer situation that might make it a lot more challenging to openthe lid if you have anything next to the Box on either side. There's a small Gap in the Center front of the box that presumably is meant to create a lifting Gap between the top lid and the base, but getting your fingernails in there to try to open the lid also doesn't work because the magnets are too strong and the Gap is too small.. So you pretty much can only open the Box by holding the sides and lifting the lid with your two fore fingers while holding the base with the rest of your fingers at thesides. I'm not sure why they even put the magnets in since the lid alone is heavy enough to stay closed.I'm probably going to put a little bit of clear tape over the magnets on the top of the lid to reduce the magnetic pull. One other thing, the top lid opens to a 90° vertical opening. It doesn't swing back & tilt back further than the vertical orientation like most wooden boxes are designed to do because of the limitation of the hinges, and in most cases that will work just fine.At the current $40 price tag it's an okay value. This is not the best quality Acacia wood craftsmanship because the surfaces of the wood are not super smooth, they're a little bit rough in texture because they weren't sanded down smoothly enough, but the seams are smooth and the gluing of the individual pieces of wood together is well done so there are no gaps. It would have had a bit nicer quality feel if the acacia wood were smooth instead of roughly textured. I may just have gotten a bad piece that wasn't properly sanded on top because the sides and front of the box are much smoother but the top is very rough. Overall, except for the roughness of the wood and the overly strong magnets, I think it's a nice piece with lots of functionality for different applications.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well constructed with a classic, old-timey look and feel
For a while, I have had my eyes peeled for a classic wooden box of a particular size to house my wax sealing supplies. Then I ran across this box and knew it would be just right. The entire box, as a whole, seems to be pretty well constructed with attention paid to a few details that I appreciate. First, the rear edge of the lid has a 45º bevel that matches up with a mirrored bevel on the back wall of the box. This feature allows the wood on both pieces to make contact when the box is in its open position, thereby relieving stress on the hinges. This is good, since the hinges are relatively small, though they do seem strong for their size. That said, I would definitely recommend care to keep the box from falling while open. There is also a 1 5/8” wide beveled notch cut into the front edge, to use a finger for freeing the magnets inset into the wood and open it.The acacia wood has a fabulous grain pattern and a distinctive scent. I will probably coat it down with some boiled linseed oil for preservation and to help the gain “pop”. I have always liked oil finishing on classic wood grains. The interior is well laid out for wide variety of uses, including tea bags! One of my favorite features is that the dividers are easily disassembled for changing the configuration of the interior and compartment sizes. This is another thing that makes this box so perfect for my purposes.All-in-all, I really like this box.
5.0 out of 5 stars Attractive tea box
Lovely box, and removable dividers allowed me to store larger than normal tea bags. A big upgrade to my previous tea storage. Needed a light coat of oil when it arrived, but afterword is a very attractive addition to our kitchen coffee area.
5.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a finger trap but beautiful !
I absolutely love the craftsmanship of this box. I used mine for my tea collection. As I was loading the box with tea from another box. I had my fingers rested on the edge. The box doesn’t open very wide so it shut on my fingers when slightly moved. My hands are thicker so it didn’t pose a problem other than being a surprise. You may want to supervise carefully around children though. Their hands are smaller so it may be more shocking than harmful to them to which if they pull their hand away the box may come with. Otherwise the wooden lid isn’t heavy enough to cause a mark. It’s still important to note though. There are also some rough edges so you could sand them a little yourself if you encounter them. It’s not. Real big problems to worry about. It’s just a preference. Overall it’s a reasonable value. It’s made really well~
