I have been using the green Permatex grease (the kind you get from Advance and Autozone) for as far back as I can remember. For me, the stuff lasts forever and I think I bought my last bottle about 10 years ago. I doubt it has a shelf life but since I had to do my brakes, I figure why not replace it with fresh grease. I went to order and found this instead.It caught my attention because it said it has ceramic in it. Well, I don’t know how many product today some ceramic added. The problem is many of the cheaper ones add trace amounts, just so they could say “there’s ceramic added”. But I figured why not.I cleaned all of the pins and pad slides, sprayed with brake cleaner, then added the grease. It feels like the green stuff but a little thinner. I don’t know if that’s because my bottle of grease has been sitting on the shelf in the garage for a decade or if this product is just a little less viscous. The pads seemed to move easily, just like with the green lube so we’re good there.Unfortunately, it will be hard to tell if the switch was worth it or not since I have to wait until either the brakes start screaming (because the lube failed) or I need to replace them. Hopefully I will remember to update the review at that time (don’t wait up for me).
