Always love the traditional RL Polo Oxford Buttondown.Classic fit sizing is tricky- If you are expecting for the sleeve length and collar measurements of a classic fit shirt to match the sizes used over the last few decades, you're going to end up a size too small e.g. If you have a 16 1/2 collar, 34 sleeve length measurement, this generally matched a size L for many, many years. This is now a XL. I've carefully matched the L size from a few years ago to the current XL and there is no doubt this is the case.The good news is this seems to be now standard across manufacturers whereas a year or two ago sizes were not consistent.

When I opened the package, I immediately noticed the fabric was totally different from any Polo Classic Oxford I had ever purchased. It is not your bright crisp cotton that defines the Polo brand. The best description of the fabric is more like a worn out cotton sheet from a cheap hotel. I sent the shirts out to have them laundered with medium starch. This was a total waste of money. Also the size XL has very long sleeves, maybe 35"-36" with just a single button, the cuffs covers the palms of my hands.In hindsight, I should have sent the shirts back.
