This Poke-in-Art craft set is aimed at 4-12 yo, but I think older kids would be immensely bored. My almost 4 yo grandkids, however, enjoyed punching out the animals and poking in the plasticky/fabric squares. They weren’t particularly great at this, but I think it will help with fine motor skills and dexterity. There is only one poke stick in the set, but if you have scratch art sticks, you can have more than one kid involved at a time. The animals are super cute and this is perfect for a rainy day or other quiet time activity. Is giftable, in my opinion, though $15 (at time of review) seems a bit high.

I would say this is aimed at 3-5 year olds. I got this for a 6 year old and I think it is too young for them, but perfect for the 3 year old in the family. I was a little disappointed that the cover on the box shows the panda and the lion as having more places to ‘poke’ than is the actual case in person. Still cute but just not as represented.These cute animals have pre poked perforations and each animal is actually part of a scene card and then can be punched out of the scene if you wish. This kit includes the poke stick, a mat to protect your surface and the ‘fabric’ squares that are all precut. The cardboard is nice and thick and the printed pictures are vibrant.I have a few other similar kits and this one is very nice, just more simple which makes it ideal either for younger kids or for kids maybe with a shorter attention span. My other kits are more girl oriented with princess themes so I got this one for a 6 year old boy since it was animals. I think he might enjoy it but it seems to be for a younger child, not the 4-12 year old recommended on the box.
