TLDR: Super cool necklace, heavy and detailed! I actually was really impressed when I opened up this package and found a pretty heavy, very detailed necklace inside. It looks a ton like the movie and I love that it actually has a decent weight to it. I don’t mind the necklace string material either. The only issue is that in the listing picture, the contrast a lot stronger than it is in real life, as in the picture it looks a lot more bright gold with dark black lines. Really it is a more muted gold with light black lines. Other than that I think this necklace is great for what it is and the price as well!

Overall: this is a solid chunk of metal that has been crafted into a beautiful pirate medallion. We got this for my son's Renaissance faire outfit as he is building a pirate collection, and this is probably the highest quality piece he currently has in his set. The quality surpasses the value of the price of the medallion.Pros: this is a well-crafted well machined and well formed circular medallion. The engraving features iconography often associated with pirates. There is a cord necklace that comes with it that is adjustable making this an easy fit for children and adults. The necklace itself is likely to last for years as it is durable. The coin / medallion itself is basically a solid piece of metal. The aged bronze rubbing on the medallion gives it a fun aged characteristic and adding this to your costume blends right in.Cons: I'm sad to say that while wearing this at the Renaissance faire the corded necklace came undone and it did fall off my son's neck. Had he not noticed it we would have left it on the ground but thankfully he noticed it fall off and I was able to pick it up and reassemble it. I think that the fact that the courted necklace isn't as tightly constructed makes this a big con of the purchase. So long as you are aware that the cord may come undone you can proactively fix that to avoid our mishap. If it weren't for the high quality medallion I probably would have rated this lower but the fact that we were able to find it and fix it I am so happy with this piece.

This pirate medallion is surprisingly great quality! It feels heavy, solid, and sturdy in the hand. Not cheap or plasticky at all. The weight gives it an authentic feel, which makes it stand out compared to other costume accessories.My son wore it with his pirate costume to the Renaissance fair, and it was the perfect finishing touch. It really pulled his outfit together and looked so realistic, we got several compliments on it. Even after a full day of running around and playing, it held up without any issues.If you’re looking for something that feels more like a real medallion than a toy, this is a fantastic option. Whether for costumes, themed events, or just as a fun keepsake, it’s a great buy.
Cheaper than it looks
It’s much less detailed and much cheaper looking in real life when compared to the picture on the Bolo site.On the plus side it has nice weight to it. They took two coins and stuck them together so the image is on both sides, it’s just a crappy image unless you hold it up to your nose
