Especially because I do not want to damage my skin. With that being said I still ALWAYS desire to be as dark as I can in the summer and man this stuff is good. If you are fair complected as well here are my recommendations: 1. Ensure you have a base tan. As you can see from my first photo there is already a difference I have worked up over 3 different sessions outside before I tried this product. And they had some element of SPF in it. 2. Put sunscreen on areas you know you tend to burn more easily UNDER this product. For me I did my face, chest, and shoulders.I was outside for a total of an hour and a half and had flipped between sides 2 times. I didn’t burn because of the steps I followed, and I am super happy about the results. It’s also very hydrating when it’s rubbed in and doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy like the Hawaiian tropic tanning oil (which used to be my go to) definitely excited to keep using this during the summer!

I purchased a jar of Carroten Tanning Gel and I absolutely LOVE it! I am very fair skinned, but come Spring, I start to try and get a tan, but I am so pale that I burn easily in the beginning but then it settles in and I tan, but I can never get dark without some kind of help from various products, I can never really dark. With baited breath, I looked for my old favorite Bain' De Soleil but sadly, they discontinued it, I know, I know, it was a product that I used in the 80's but man that stuff was great, and that made me so sad, but then I got a suggestion from Bolo for the Carroten Intensive Tanning Gel. After reading the reviews, and after some research, people even mentioned that it was like the Bain' De Soleil, minus the SPF 4 and I knew that I had to try it and ordered a jar of Carroten Intensive Tanning Gel and wow, the first day, I had stripes, I was red, don't get me wrong, but I was also a darker color than I could've ever gotten with any other product, and faster, other than getting a fake spray tan. Carroten Intensive Tanning Gel has no SPF factor so keep that in mind because you will burn if you're not careful, but in the long run, I got a deeper, darker tan than I ever could have on my own. I highly recommend the Carroten Intensive Tanning Gel, just know that it is greasy and it will get on your clothes so make sure you wear a T-shirt that you don't care about, but definitely try this, go slowly, and you won't regret it.

OMGoodness, I love this stuff. First, it makes your skin super soft, second, it gives it a beautiful shimmer glow (I think you can buy this without the shimmer but I like the light sparkle so mine had shimmer) It smells so nice but its not overpowering and it's not like a typical tanning product smell, if you know what I mean. Its waterproof so if you put it on and get in the pool, it wont wash off right away but you will need to reapply after a few hours in the water. I tan indoors and by the pool so I would say this is mostly for outdoor tanning but I would use it in a tanning bed in a pinch. It even comes with a little spatula for easy application so you don't have to dig your nails in the product.

I recently tried the Carroten Intensive Tanning Gel, and overall, I’m impressed! The gel has a smooth texture that applies evenly and absorbs quickly, which made it easy to use. On my first application, I didn’t get as dark as I was hoping, but after using it for a few more days, I started to see a noticeable tan building up.By day three, I was definitely starting to look sun-kissed, and now I feel ready for summer! It’s a great product if you're looking for a gradual tan, rather than an instant dark shade. The scent is pleasant, and I didn’t experience any streaking, which is always a bonus with tanning products.I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a natural, buildable tan. I've been tanning for a really long time.I have always had a base tan so I very rarely burn..Today was the first time I used carrotan and I was so excited after seeing all the reviews...All I have to say is believe every one.This stuff is no joke.I sat in the sun for an hour and a half and I'm scorched.The color I got is insane.Phenomenal product but please please wear sunscreen or you will get sick.This stuff pulls the sun in, I'm not even kidding.Just be careful

I would give this stuff five stars...but I'm terrified to. I'm a person who tans pretty easily, and once I get going for the season, I DON'T burn. I thought I'd give this stuff a try to kick-start the season. This photo is of me after applying the gel (which has a lovely smell and consistency, by the way) and lying in the sun for about 20 minutes. So yeah, IT WORKS. But maybe too well?? Maybe I should have started the season with my normal routine of gradually increasing my sun exposure before using this stuff. And then once I was out of the burn zone, I could use it. I might try that once this burn heals.

I am super skeptical when it comes to purchasing products that are highly reviewed by influencers, however I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase this product. I used this product ONCE (with sunscreen applied underneath) and laid outside for about 1.5 hours by the pool. I noticed immediately when returning inside that I was red but not burnt. After generously applying after-tan lotion daily, I am about 3 shades darker from only laying out that one time. My "red" turned to a nice shade of brown. I am incredibly surprised at how well this product works. I don't mind the scent of the product, you can see where you are applying it (think self tan lotions that have a guide), and it was not too oily. Prior to purchasing and using this product I was using SunBum tanning lotion every time I was outside and could not tell a difference. I did not feel like I was getting a nice tan until I used this product.
