Got this to keep track of my cat's blood sugar. I started with myself since I was pretty sure I was fine. The lancet system is alright, but it wasn't the greatest for pricking my finger. I had to try on three different fingers. It might be my skin, but the striker didn't seem very strong. I did end up getting blood, but it was two fingers. Once I did I got it into the test strip, it sucked it up easily and the reader started doing its thing. It took about 5-8 seconds to read back. At first, I was worried as it showed "112" which is "Pre-Diabetes", but I figured I'd better check again. So I did it all again and got "95", so I am not exactly sure how consistent it is. I didn't want to use all 50 strips in one day, so I will try again in a few more days and see what the spread is. If there are more diverse readings, I'll be sure to report back. The reader takes "AAA" batteries, which is a nice change as those are easier, and usually cheaper, than the button cells a lot of these use. I'll be keeping this around to monitor my cat's blood sugar. I took one star off due to the wide swing of blood sugar levels since I was pretty distressed when I got the "112".

I bought this for my dad who has diabetes and has to check his blood glucose daily. He gets a quick reading with these strips. He likes to keep these on hand so that he doesn't run out of them. Pretty easy to use, the directions are clear. Seems to be a good value for the money.

It seems to be accurate I did test it I actually got one for my sister loads up pretty fast and not very much blood is needed for the poke test.

I got this to keep at home to periodically test my glucose levels. I've used other kinds in the past and they are a bit more intuitive. After reading the instructions I figured out how to set the date and time. Figuring out how to use the lancing device was a bit of a struggle. Initially, I could not figure out how to get the cap off to insert the lancet. What you need to do is twist the gray part then push the gray tab up and it will pop the cover off. You then insert the lancet and the protective top. Once closed, you adjust the depth of the lancet and proceed.The Glucose Monitor is easy to use. You simply insert the test strip and apply the blood and that's it. It is a very quick reading. Note that batteries were not included, so you'd need two AAA batteries to set it up. Hopefully it is easy to get more test strips when the included strips finish. All of the parts fit into the case for easy storage and portability.
