View the video tutorials on You tube and read the information--this will save you some time. It has a very powerful suction, but has a "trigger" on the handle to adjust the suction as needed. Emptying the waste cannister can be a slight challenge but viewing the video tutorials really helps. I am glad I purchased this because I am able to vacuum under a king size bed as my upright vacuum even with the attchments was not effective as I discovered when I used the new dyson. If you carry the unit, it is a little heavy but you can just pull it along and it self uprights if it turns over. Also I have to make sure I pick up the unit holding both the motor and cannister together or the canniter might fall from the unit. Cord is automatic and I I have to plug it in different places in the house. It is not very noisey. This is my 3rd Dyson vac. I have 2 uprights that still work very well but I have found the new Big Ball cannister style vac excellent for walls behind furniture and under beds and fro PET HAIR!!

This vacuum is amazing. It has excellent suction. There is no corn chip smell emanating from the canister or hair tangling in the brush with dust balls. If you are out of shape you will get a bit of a workout adjusting the airflow of the suction for large items with your index finger but it can be quite fun. I would like a little more of a stable feeling using the handle and the hose.The airflow feature is ergonomically friendly but if you have carpal tunnel, arthritis, or general muscle weakness you will tire out easily and will need to pace yourself. However, I rather get a workout in and adjust to the machine with a clean home. Compared to my annoying old vacuum that use to toss and push dirt around, the Dyson did such a fantastic job of picking up dust, dirt, and any small items that fell on the floor. I felt like my floors had not been thoroughly cleaned in years.The Dyson is a must for allergy suffers and for bare foot affectionados. It will be important to stay on top of the vacuum's maintenance by making sure dust in the canister doesn't exceed capacity levels. You will need to wash the filter with cold water every month and completely dry the filter. I don't like saying I love inanimate objects but I really love it. I am so happy with the efficient and compact Dyson Big Ball vacuum. Be sure to read the manual, the great stories, and fun facts included in the packet. If you register your machine, the QR code directs you to the Canadian website. Be sure to select your location at the upper right hand corner of the Dyson website so that registration will be easy peasy for you. Enjoy! Have a clean home and a happy life. 💜

Not first Dyson but this one appears to be so much better engineered than last canister this one replaces.First, it is so much lighter and less clunky. More Power but so much quieter.The dumping process and reset is a lot different and still getting used to it.Has the power and brush spin speed to work on carpet as well as the upright Dyson gives me. Plus this improved version slows the spin when you use the reduction of suction switch instead of stopping AND when you release to reduction control, brush returns to full speed.Sadly, which I knew from reviews and checking Dyson Site, the older tools are not directly compatible with this machine. Dyson warns AND it included an adapter that has worked great on the tools I use the most.One very noticeable improvement is the hose attachment to the machine. Old one reduced the intake size to a narrow slot that required massive amounts of time to clear and needed tools.Unpackaging was interesting along with assembly. One improvement over dead one is all the attachments have better retention once properly installed. No more frustration with the tool head falling off during operation.if you are looking for a canister that can clean, this one is it until Dyson makes a newer one with more improvements. Sorry, the power cord is still a bit short compared with the upright Dyson.

I have used the vacuum fewer than 10 times and has stopped working. When it was working I was not impressed with the suction. Additionally it does not take much to clog it up. If you have small children this is probably not the best vacuum for you. My children cut a few pieces of paper into very small pieces then pushed it all off the table. I tried to vacuum this up and it just clogged up the vacuum. I had to use my very old shark and it picked up all the paper no problem. Additionally it only takes a small amount of hair to make the roller stop working. This was an issue from day one. Perhaps i got a Lemon but the bottom line is that it is too late to return this vacuum.

Did not come with the cloth, otherwise seems good. There were a few similar online, so I was looking for key words like hepa filter... not on box or attached booklet. I have only used it once, so far, has strong suction and is easy to assemble and use.

I owned one like this in England from 2014 - 2018. It is far superior to the ball and canister awful clunky Dyson’s I’ve used since living in the US. I’ve gone through 3 of those in 6 years! I’m delighted to see this older design back. It was the greatest vacuum cleaner I ever had! Easy to get under beds, couches, up stairs. I hope Dyson retires that newer design and keeps this one. It’s more practical, lighter and lasts forever!

I bought this to replace my 19 year old Dyson DC07 upright which finally failed. Compared to the DC07, I find this much easier to use, maneuver, and empty. Some users mentioned that it is a bit difficult to move the canister part on carpeting, but find it to be much easier than the old one. I especially like that the rotating brush is easier to remove and clean. The vacuum seems to have more power as well. I’ve only had it a few weeks, but so far, really like it.
