This foundation is absolutely a foundation! As a starting layer, it goes on silky-smooth and light, which means it blends easily with your highlights and contouring with just a few dabs of a beauty blender (or brush too, probably, but I haven't tried that yet!). I love the color, it was a great match, and the coverage is a smooth, matte texture that leaves the skin looking velvety - an extra bonus for me, who's always having to deal with shine. A little of this goes a long way, so I haven't had to use more than a couple of pumps to cover my whole face, so despite being a tiny 1 ounce bottle I feel it's going to last longer than expected. At the end of the day it was easy to swipe away with some micellar water and follow up with some moisturizer, and it didn't take much to get my face clean which was nice as many foundations tend to leave residue that takes forever to get off.

I'm not normally drawn to any kind of matte foundation because, at my age, it tends to find every flaw and display it. I wanted to try this because it was "soft" matte so I figured it would be a little bit luminous and that's exactly what it was. It's not an exact shade match for my fair, cool undertone, but that's pretty easy to fix with some bronzer. I like the feel of it on my skin and the wear time. I didn't find that it settled too much into my fine lines.

Normally I'm not a huge fan of matte foundation, since they tend to accentuate my acne scars and pores. This foundation has decent coverage and still leaves my skin with a bit of a glow without going overboard. You don't have to use too much, so if cost is a concern, a little goes a long way.As with any foundation, if you properly prep your skin beforehand (cleanse, moisturize, prime) it works much better than slapping it on as is. I was very happy with the results.

I’m in my late 40’s and for me this was too drying. This foundation was more prone to settle into my fine lines. If you do not have fine lines, it was a pretty full coverage foundation and the light color accurate. I’m not sure it is worth the price tag though.

I’ve been using this foundation for the last several weeks and I love it. in the past, I’ve used regular foundation with powder over top. This foundation has a matte finish, which does not call for powder. I have applied using a kabuki brush, and the finish is lovely. The color I ordered is slightly too dark for me however, it blends well. I will 100% order this brand again probably a lighter color.

This offered excellent coverage for my skin which has overall redness and freckles under the eyes. It looked great going on but after a couple of hours settled into my pores, which to be fair is a common problem for me with liquid foundations. It is fairly hot here now and I'm thinking this might work better for the winter months for me.I generally wear the second lightest neutral foundation shade so I was surprised that Swan - the lightest neutral shade was an exact match. In my photo it is covering the lower half of my arm, but is practically invisible. Those with very fair complexation might not be able to find a good match.The one thing I didn't care for is that the pump squirts out way too much foundation - at least a third too much which means I am forced to waste a lot of product. The container is plastic and I wasn't able to remove the lid and bypass the pump, which is what I typically do with faced with a pump style dispenser.This foundation is made in Canada.

This foundation has amazing texture. It looks amazing on the skin. It has great coverage and it's easy to apply. It blends out smoothly. It dries down nicely and stays put all day. Absolutely amazing foundation!

I am a big fan of the Born this way original foundation & really wanted to try the matte version when I heard it was being reformulated/repackaged. I am blown away by its performance! Color matching was easy- I got my usual Too Faced shade. (Whatever you wear in the OG formula seems to translate over to this which is great!) The formula is thicker but very creamy & easy to blend. I covered my whole face with 1 pump & I am a full coverage queen. I have acne scars, hyperpigmentation & rosacea; this foundation covered it all with 1 pump easily. I put it on at 9am & did housework all day (cleaning, laundry, etc) it lasted through sweat, rain & running around with my kiddos. I took this pic at 9pm & it legit looks like I just applied it. I am blown away! No touchups, no separation, no oily patches. I am combo leaning oily & I’ve ever had a base product look this beautiful after 12 hours without touchups. The new bottle is sleek & easy to take on the go if you travel. It holds 1oz of product which is standard & a good value for the money considering you only need 1 pump to cover your entire face. I highly recommend this foundation & I am rarely this impressed. *wearing shade Seashell*
