I was kind of turned off to using a mandoline until I saw a few TV programs with a Chef using one. After seeing one chef in particular using one, I began doing a little research into which one he may have used and it eventually brought me to this one. Although it didn’t have that many reviews (that I usually check first) it appeared to be exactly like another one that had over 12 thousand reviews and costs a little more than this one. I finally bought it and have tried it out a few times and I am totally pleased with this purchase, it works better that the Japanese one and it’s safer too!. The design with the flip down stand and the “guard” make it so easy to use safely, there are so many horror stories about severe injuries with a mandoline that I wanted to be sure I could use it safely. Haven’t tried the julienne or fry blades yet, but I will soon. Comes with everything you might need to slice vegetables safely & efficiently, includes cut resistant gloves, hand guard to hold the veggies securely and brushes for cleaning. The price difference was not that significant to not choose the other one, I felt good about this one and I’m glad I got it.

Use care when using, sharpness is perfect. Was missing glove, but needed mandolin for dietary needs. So, I kept it. Adjustable blade setting good and varied. Use guard on blade. PS if Seller is reading send me the glove it would be appreciated.

I like how easy is to change the type of cut. No need to change pieces to go from julienne to slices. It is also very easy and accurate with the adjusting of the thickness of the slices. A breeze to get it clean afterwards! Love it.

Works great! I’ve cut the crap out of myself twice now and they were super clean, even cuts. Fortunately, I had it set for thin slices so fingertips grew back just fine. Highly recommend for focused users. May not be so great for users with ADD OR ADHD.I give it 4 stars not because of my stupidity but after about a month of moderate use items I sliced, zucchini, apples etc. began to tear on the back end instead of slicing cleanly through

Inserting the center blade is difficult. I removed it to clear and it’s nearly impossible to reinsert. The device works good just not user friendly to reassemble.
