9/10, -1 for a bit of a longer break in period than previous versionTL;DR The shoe is completely redesigned without understatement, they still feel very good for running or daily work wear but almost everything has changed about the previous version.Changes:1. The shoe is mostly made of more mesh padding that is very airy, i noticed it immediately upon wearing the shoe when i went for a walk with a slight breeze and could feel it on my toes.2. The heel is more rigid than soft which for some might throw them off at first especially when breaking in the shoe. It is also narrower and has a better heel cup feel. It feels better for running as it is a more secure heel than before, but very rigid. I feel it’s a good change as the previous version heels are tearing on mine which prompted the purchase.3. The tongue is more padded than previous version, this gives the top of your feet better feel as you bring your foot up in stride as previously you may have felt the laces more as it was very thin4. Better ground feel. The shoe is known for feeling pretty close to the ground with the zero drop and I appreciate it as it makes me feel like a more natural run than overly cushioned, but it is still a soft landing on every foot strike with what looks like more of the ergo foam5. Changed all of the locations of the reflective stripes which may be off putting for early morning or late night runners for safety, I’m not sure why the reflective laces and heel reflection were changed for more reflection in the front but the design does not change anything for me6. General logo placement and size changes. Not a problem as it doesn’t affect your run but could be a swag difference for those shoe enthusiasts who care.It was very odd to see them completely redesigned like this as most other companies would only change maybe one or two things for the next version, but I love running in Torins and they feel great all day for working on my feet.Great purchase and would buy again.

My husband has a wide foot and usually wears barefoot shoes. These are aesthetically pleasing while providing a little more cushion than your avg barefoot shoe. They also seem to be made to last. They fit true to size.

This is my first pair of Altra shoes, and the Torin 8 has been a great experience. The cushioning is comfortable, the fit feels natural, and the wide toe box makes every run more enjoyable. I’m glad I made the switch!

After wearing these to Orange Theory for 6 months, and trying other shoes to compare (ie Brooks), i can confidently say that these are an extremely comfy shoe for running and walking. The cushion feels perfect and the heel to toe step transition is very smooth. The toe box is perhaps a bit too wide for me but i have narrow feet and still appreciate the extra room up there. They’re not super comfy around the ankles when wearing no show socks, but fantastic with ankle or crew socks. I also kinda wish they were a 4mm drop instead of zero, but that’s personal choice. Going to try a 4mm Altra shoe next. I also wear the Rivera 3’s for work and also have the Lone Peaks for hiking. Probably an Altra girl for life now ☺️

Very comfy and great cushion! Not the widest toe box as some of Altras shoes but not narrowest either. Altra fans will know what im talking about as they have completely changed some of their shoe shapes for the worse. I do however use this shoe regularly at work and I have to stand and walk for about 15 hours and 5-7 miles a day. The reason I gave this shoe 4 stars is because the heel does not have a finger loop to help pull the shoe on, but rather a slightly harder heel extension that goes up the back of your ankle and extra inch. You do not feel this when running or walking but you are forced to somewhat smush your thumb or finger slightly when putting the shoe on because of the missing heel loop. Otherwise great shoe with the standard wide toe box.

Both orders were received in the standard, MEDIUM width, which is unacceptable.Altra shoes were specifically sought out for their wider toe box. The availability of a dedicated wide width in the models I picked. Whe wide width offered created optimism. Receiving the wrong width twice is a significant disappointment and a waste of time, money, and resources.Ordered: Altra in Wide WidthReceived: in Medium WidthInitial Impression (Medium Width): The standard fit of this shoe is uncomfortable and restrictive due to the incorrect width. The ample toe space that is often associated with Altra's wide options was not provided.Frustration: The incorrect sizing prevents experiencing the advertised features and benefits of this shoe, further adding to the frustration.Overall Disappointment and Wasted Resources:Returning items is frustrating because of an avoidable error. This experience has wasted time and the resources used in packaging and shipping the incorrect items.Bolo should not allow sellers to offer the wide width option if it is not truly available and accurately fulfilled. This misrepresentation is misleading and impacts customers who desperately need wider footwear due to foot problems. The situation has left the me without the proper footwear needed for my feet rehab.Bolo and Altra should address this issue to ensure accurate listings and fulfillment for wide-width shoes in the future. This kind of mistake impacts customer satisfaction and trust.Unfortunately, I will have 2 wait for the 3rd and 4th. Altra pairs in order to return them, as I believe they will ALSO be sent in medium width, which is not going to allow me to keep them.
