5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the ROG Ally, does 1440p 144hz, HDR, and 30 watt turbo mode (with 100 watt charger)
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This dock will fully power the ROG Ally in 30 watt turbo mode if you use a 100 watt USB C power supply. Unfortunately the changer that comes with he Ally is not enough when going through the dock for some reason. A 65 watt Bolo basics charger that I have was also not enough. So if you want your Ally to run at max power you will need a 100 watt USB C power supply. I got a cheap $10 EIZLXQ 100W GaN Charger here on Bolo and it has been powering the Ally just fine in 30 watt mode through this dock.Overall the dock works really well, it can handle 1440p 144hz HDR through HDMI while also transferring files over USB at 100+MBs, a mouse with a 1000hz polling rate, and power delivery in 30 watt turbo mode on the ROG Ally all at the same time with no lag. Also no lag while playing games on the external display. In the week that I have been using the new dock I have not encountered a single issue with the display or connectivity. So I am very pleased with the dock for $14 and would highly recommenced it.Really the only minor complaints that I have is that variable refresh rate does not seem to be working through the dock. My display supports freesync and it works on my main computer, but the ROG Ally does not detect it as freesync compatible through this dock. It is possible that is something to do with the Ally or my specific monitor instead of the hub, I can't be sure. Also there are not enough USB A ports, I just do not use USB C data ports very much, but I just got some USB C to A adapters. The $6 BENFEI hub that I was using before this would have occasional lags just with the display running at 60hz (that is all it could do at 1440p) along with a mouse and keyboard. And it had horrible lag to the point of becoming basically unusable when a USB 3 drive was plugged in and pretty much just froze up when transferring data, so this is a massive upgrade over that.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is a winner for Elgato hardware.
I took a leap in purchasing this docking station. I see a lot of people talking about hooking up additional monitors via this device, but nothing about managing the different inputs for Elgato hardware. Well, I bought it and it worked like a charm. It charged my laptop very fast, and kept the battery ahead of the use curve. I also plugging the Elgato teleprompter and foot pedal into it and it worked flawlessly. I probably could have also plugged in my web cam and this device would have tied it all together. Didn't get hot. The LED power indicator is impossible to miss making troubleshooting easy as pie. I would totally buy this again and I can't say that about a lot of electronic gear these days.Don't hesitate. Works great and it's super affordable. Just buy it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ugreen is the goat
Everything I bought from this company has been dang near perfect and cheaper than all the other options on the market. It’s gotten to the point where whenever I’m shopping for electronic goods I check and see if this company has one first because it’s always the cheapest and always the best.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Purchase
Great for my work at home set up. I have a laptop and monitor. Bought one for my wife too. More affordable and same quality as many competitors.
4.0 out of 5 stars Solid product didn’t fully work for my needs
This product works on my iPad and somewhat on my laptop unfortunately I don’t know why but when I’m using this with my laptop I am unable to connect a monitor via the HDMI port but everything else works fine I know this port works for displays as well so I’m not sure why it’s not working with this dongle but I’m mainly using it for external storage devices anyways so it’s not the biggest deal just a bit of a bummer
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for ASUS ROG Ally X and Nintendo Switch
I have these to connect my ASUS ROG Ally X and my Nintendo Switch to 2 of my TVs and then I have one for travel also. My friends with the same systems also bought them. These provide enough power to allow the Ally X to run in performance mode with my 100W power supply, and max the resolution on my 4k TVs. They've got plenty of ports for peripherals and they connect quick and easy with no issues on Linux, Windows, and Nintendo systems.
5.0 out of 5 stars Additional ports for Mac Mini
Works great, I have it set up with my Mac Mini to give me a few more ports.
4.0 out of 5 stars It works for connectivity, but not fast charging.
I bought 2 of these to use with a laptop and iPad. Had no issues with connectivity. USB C and USB A ports worked just fine. Thumb drives and hard drives worked without issue. BUT I'm not sure charging is working properly. I plugged a charger into the USBC PD port and had my phone plugged in and my phone refused to fast charge. Tried 3 different cables that support fast charging. My phone said it would take 9 hours to charge. I plugged an iPad and the same thing happened. I left it plugged in for an hour and it only charged 2%. So at best this hub may maintain a charge but definately does not charge anything at a reasnable speed. Maybe mine is defective.
Product review
This product is amazing. The product is clean, and the ports' connections are great. The best part is the material, it's made of metal, giving it that premium feeling. This is a subjective opinion, but I think the cable is a little bit too long for a dongle. Overall, great product. Might buy again in the future.
Works as promised. Very good
Product satisfies the requirement and delivers what it promises. Highly recommended
Buen funcionamiento
