thick rubber, stamped to look like a hand grenade. The zipper is thick and it hasn't jammed for me. Great item to store change for laundry day.

Its design makes the shell very durable against banging around and such. Internally it has a minor amount of sorting as there in only 1 zippered hald and a small netted off half with no other means of sorting things out that aren't key rings.Now, this could work with say several keyring type items like pocket tools or USB sticks. It will NOT fit any credit card or business card sized objects.If this design fits your lifestyle, it is made well. Just a bit more limited in its organization than I was expecting.
