Review:
5.0 out of 5 stars Best compact coffee machine
I love my Jura. find yourself some nice, colombian medium roast beans and you will not look at coffee the same again (especially if you drink your coffee black, like I do). The flavor is just unmatched, even by most coffee shops! It is also incredibly easy to use and mess free. Cleaning is super simple, you just click a button and drop a cleaning tablet and it cleans itself.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Coffee Maker
Once setup after easy configuration it makes excellent coffee, cappuccino and espresso. Easy to clean and maintain.
1.0 out of 5 stars CRITICAL INFORMATION FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS - PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING
I feel obligated to warn other consumers about my experience with TWO Jura machines. Both failed after 5-6 months of basic home use (5-6 cups daily). My husband, an engineer and rocket scientist, analyzed these machines and discovered concerning issues that every buyer should know:HIDDEN COSTS AND DESIGN ISSUES:✘ Machines are DESIGNED to require professional maintenance every 6 months✘ Jura's cleaning products DON'T prevent the need for this maintenance✘ You MUST ship your machine to a service center twice a year✘ Each service visit costs hundreds of dollars + shipping✘ No coffee maker for weeks while it's being servicedTHE MATH:Purchase price: $$$$Professional service: $$$ (×2 per year)Shipping costs: $$ (×2 per year)Annual maintenance cost: Over $1,000What Jura doesn't tell you upfront:Their home cleaning products are insufficient for long-term maintenanceThe machine is designed to require professional servicingYou'll be without a coffee maker for weeks during servicingThe total cost of ownership is MUCH higher than advertisedDon't be fooled by the sleek design and initial coffee quality. The long-term ownership costs and hassle make this a poor investment. If you make 5-6 cups daily (normal for most households), expect problems within 6 months. For this price point, consumers deserve:True transparency about maintenance requirementsBetter reliabilityHonest disclosure about total cost of ownershipMachines that actually lastI've documented all issues and have engineering analysis to back these claims. Save yourself the frustration and money - look elsewhere for your coffee needs.BOTTOM LINE: The actual cost isn't the machine - it's the mandatory maintenance and early failure you're not told about until it's too late.Update: After posting this review, I discovered many others with similar experiences. This is a systematic issue, and there are not a few defective units.
4.0 out of 5 stars The best from all the ones I’ve tried.
If you only have time to read one review, let this be the one. I’ve been on the hunt for a solid coffee machine for years—ordering, testing, then returning several high-end machines that left me disappointed. Packing and sending back those heavy boxes is not something I’d wish on anyone. For almost two years, I had my eye on the Jura E6. Costco carried it at a great discount, but by the time I finally decided to order, not only was it gone, the retail price had jumped from $1,300 to $1,800 practically overnight. That pushed me to give the Jura Ena 8 a try instead. The first Ena 8 that arrived was actually defective—the water tank was stuck to the base and wouldn’t twist off, even with pliers. I ended up exchanging it for a new one.The first thing I noticed was its size and style. It’s compact, not bulky like many other machines, and I love the piano white finish—it matches my kitchen cabinets beautifully. As for performance, the coffee it makes is consistently good. I like my coffee super hot, and while the Ena 8 doesn’t quite reach the piping-hot level of a café, it’s hot enough to be enjoyable. The foam is fine—not the fluffy, barista-style foam you’d get at a coffee shop—but I didn’t expect that level of perfection at home, so it’s perfectly acceptable.Where the machine tests my patience is in its quirks. It always seems to need something just when I want to sit down and relax with a cup. Whether it’s out of beans, out of water, needs the drip tray emptied, or the milk system rinsed, there’s always a prompt. Even if there’s enough water for a small espresso, it will still demand a refill. The grounds container could be nearly empty, yet the machine insists it be cleared. And if you’re in the middle of making a cappuccino when the drip tray needs attention, the machine will stop mid-process until you take care of it. When it resumes, you often end up with double the milk foam you wanted. The small water tank also means frequent refilling, which can get tedious. All that said, I really do like the Jura Ena 8. It looks great, makes solid coffee, and fits beautifully into my kitchen. The constant prompts can be frustrating, but they come with the territory of owning a fully automatic machine that takes its maintenance seriously. For me, the trade-off is worth it: I get good coffee at home, in a compact, elegant design that I’m happy to keep on my counter.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Very easy to use. It makes great coffee. Within 5 minutes in the morning I’m having my cup of Java. Super easy to clean.
2.0 out of 5 stars Luke warm milk. Solid coffee otherwise.
Decided to kick kuerig habit at home. I have a Jura A1 at work. Been using it for 3 or 4 years, love it. I thought the milk upgrade feature for this ena8 would be special. It is i suppose but I have to do gymnastics to get hot milk. I pre warm the glass jar with hot water then microwave the milk... then I often microwave the drink when im done. Apparently luke warm drinks with foamed milk is normal? But we Americans are spoiled for wanting them hot? That's what ive read. I also wish it had a bigger water tank. All in all I think Jura is solid machinery, but this review may steer you to higher end milk steaming Jura or maybe you dont mind 98 degree lattes. Also can't fit my 16 oz travel mug under the spout like I can on my Jura A1, That's why im lowering to 2 stars
5.0 out of 5 stars Best coffee maker
Can’t go wrong with this machine. Gorgeous and works well. Tad expensive purchasing cleaning tablets and filters though.
3.0 out of 5 stars Swiss quality?
Lines on display developed by 3rd day of use since brand new. But coffee is okay
