You can tell they're made with great care. They have absolutely no odor, not even when package was opened. They're completely natural, high-quality wool; they don't shed at all but, just in case, I followed the directions to do a first run with them in the dryer with a just-washed towel. BTW, the wool dryer balls arrive in a cute, all-natural bag that they can be kept in between loads. As a financially-careful person speaking to others who might be frugal: don't waste your money on those awful plastic, nubby dryer balls that we see in groceries, etc. (and that I've purchased in past). We would all be happy consumers if every company produced truly excellent products like these 100% New Zealand wool large dryer balls. I give a round of applause to the company that produces and sells them. I will buy this outstanding product again.

I had to stop using the dryer sheets so I ordered the dryer balls. They are great, clothes don’t wrinkle or have static cling. You just leave them in the dryer and next time you wash clothes you don’t have to remember to put them in they are ready when you are.

I bought these to replace hard plastic dryer balls that make such a racket in the dryer and had spikes that caught on clothes. I also wanted to get away from having to purchase dryer sheets repeatedly that are not recyclable. These work just fine, are smooth and don't catch on fabrics, and don't make any noise in the dryer. My only complaint is not with the balls themselves but that I had to order 4 of them. That seems to be the norm, when I really only wanted one to try it out.

I used to use the little ball balls with the knobs on them, but now I use these wool balls instead they help reduce wrinkles in the dryer and they do a good job

Clothes come out of the dryer softer and much less wrinkled. But essential oils for a nice smell does stain the white balls.

Specially useful when washing clothes that need fluffing like duvets / pillows / towels etc
