None whatsoever which is a good thing. And it doesn't smell bad or like vitamins. The reviews complaining about the taste and/or texture most likely are using too much powder and not enough of whatever they were blending it with. Just one scoop is all that is needed. A first I was using 2 scoops for my smoothies expecting it to taste like Smoothie King. When I cut it back to one scoop for a single serving, I was much happier with the results. The package was a bit hard to open so I cut it with scissors and store it in a Ziploc bag.
5.0 out of 5 stars No discernible flavor and blends in well
This pea protein powder has no discernible flavor in smoothies, which is what I bought it for. It easily blends into smoothies as well as pumping up the protein content in pancakes, muffins and other baked goods. I was hesitant to try it, expecting the flavor of peas to negatively impact my food. It has yet to do that. I would definitely recommend this product.
1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible chalky taste. I should have listened to my gut.
For those who can make this taste good you are chemistry geniuses. For those who enjoy the test I have to interview you. I could not get past the chalky weird after taste. One day I will learn the secrets until then I will look for another protein brand that has protein that taste decent with basic fruits and vegetables blended in my smoothie.
4.0 out of 5 stars Easy blendability
Mixed amazingly lump free in cold water but thick so I added more water.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, good source of protein, good way to start, no taste hardly.
I read all the reviews and went with this. I was specific on my needs. I wanted to just try if so did not want a larger container for 60 bucks or more and if I gave up on it waste so I went with this cheaper, smaller, good amount of protein version. It really worked out perfect. It will also last me a long time.I needed something fast, easy and mobile with a good amount of protein source for the days I donated plasma. No way was I going to mix it in water or milk or soup. Also I rarely cook.I ended up experimenting and decided on kind of making up my own Peanut Butter Ball drops. So easy. I mixed the powder and the Peanut Butter well together in a bowl dropped by the spoonful on a wax paper lined cookie sheet and froze/refrigerated them. I even made some with drizzled melted chocolate chips on top. One can add cinnamon too. I could eat these before my donor days and also bring them to the center and eat them right after on the ride home. Perfection. Almost 40 grams of protein with the Butter and the powder. Eat two and I am all done.Yes, the stuff is kinda Poofy messy like baby powder. lol when I opened the bag a small poof came out, as another reviewer mentioned. However, it was not real messy as I thought it might be and he mentioned. I think the heads up made me be extra careful though. Hahah! Since it was hard to reseal the bag anyway it was an easy decision to restore in another container. I just dumped it in a plastic Tupperware kind of large bowl container with a lid. If you have a mason jar that would work too. Problem solved.l had no issues at all with the taste. Almost nothing. Must be what you mix it with I suppose. It tastes very light maybe what your mouth might slightly taste like after eating a large plate of peas. I even ended up eating the powder by itself dry on bread when I tried at first making A Peanut Butter sandwich with the stuff and I did not mix it or proportion it well due to me running out of PB. It was chalky but still not even did I get any type of bad taste. Of course it is not meant to be eaten like that. Not sure about the person that said it was the worse thing he ever ate. Weird. Maybe it is really gross in water or milk?I plan on mixing it in my yogurt and maybe cereal too for at home additions after donating.
3.0 out of 5 stars For the love of God, sample it...
I got this for the iron content (lil anemic) but oh my lord I should have asked around first since the consensus is "gross" and I like earth flavors :')The flavor is definitely strong, which was really bad for me as I don't like strong flavors like peanut butter. It is very very gritty compared to my whey powder, so I dissolve it in hot water from my kettle before mixing but you need a good amount as this powder mixes real thick. I have to add lots of coacoa powder and sweetener to make it somewhat pleasant. On the plus side, great value for the big bag, I'm getting my iron, and my skin is a bit clearer not having the whey every single day.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good supplement, tastes ok
Some of the reviews scared me about the taste of the unflavored version, but when I tried it it was... fine! It's not good by any means, but I wouldn't call it unpleasant either. Kind of like a very bland, strange nondairy milk. I do use as little water as I can get away with but I don't hate drinking it. It's a nice convenient protein supplement.
2.0 out of 5 stars Very chalky and bitter but...
I only tried bcz of price and protein amount26G.... the taste is definitely chalky, very thick. Mixes well , smooth, creamy.. it's not good as far as taste no amount of fruit helps with the bitterness..... so if your looking for a good amount of protein, fair price -Go for it , but taste and wanting to buy again NOPE!!⭐Update after 5th day .Use more water and ice than milk, A Nice Frozen fruit mix and it's much more bearable.. it's non refundable so I hope that helps. 😁
