Young hockey players are always told to keep two hands on their stick from the beginning. So many times throughout a game there are battles that occur which cause them to have one hand on their stick. Having a strong top hand when you are going into a battle and defensively focusing on “stick-on-puck”. It’s IMPORTANT that the top hand has the strength to disrupt the opposing player with the puck and regain possession.Another reason why I think Slick Mitt is so important for development is the movement of the bottom hand. Whether you’re trying to catch a pass that’s in your feet or away from your body you need to be adaptable and slide the bottom hand up and down.The evolution of shooting is changing every year. Younger players are able to shoot at will regardless of the angle or puck position. A lot of that is credited towards their top hand strength. The Slick Mitt will absolutely help with increasing your shots velocity.

I bought the slick Mitt to work on my puck Handling. It's a great tool to have in your bag. I was over gripping with my bottom hand, after practicing with the mitt I've noticed my technique greatly improve in a short amount of time. I highly recommend the Slick Mitt!

Coach made us get these for practice. Love it! Just wish they had more colors. It pushes you to use your top hand when stick handling, I use it on the ice and at home with a trainer ball.

I got this for my son to start using to improve his stick handling skills. It took a while to get it to hook around my son’s glove and some frustrations with him getting used to it, but I have also noticed some improvements. Getting him it use it consistently is the toughest part.

I've been playing for a while now but stick and puck handling is a constant challenge so I need all the help I can get. I've practiced with the Slick Mitt several times now and there is no doubt that with frequent work it will help me improve. It forces me to focus on using my top hand correctly and not overgrip with my lower hand. I still need to work with it on shooting, I took a few with it and it was hard to control my shot, and I guess that is the point and I think I will get better with more practice with it. It is true that you could do something DIY for much cheaper but it would definitely not be as good as this. The Slick Mitt is very well constructed and is very durable and should hold up well to the rigors of hockey. And the velcro straps keep it right where you need it but those along with the hinged gripper make it really easy to use.

I have been a hockey fan my whole life but never had the opportunity to actually play the sport. Recently, I’ve gotten the opportunity to play some dek hockey and have been in need of some practice. This has been a great tool so far, one of the most important things is learning to always keep your stick down, this has helped with that since it sort of forces you to with the strap. Putting it together is easy and it even comes with a travel pouch. I’ve been using this at home and am looking forward to taking to the ring. It’s improved my shooting technique in the backyard along with my stick handling as well. Great product that seems well built and is comfortable enough to use consistently.

I am a hockey coach for 8U, 10U, 12U and 15U and I have used this tool at all levels. Having a loose but controlling grip on your low hand is so important when stick handling and shooting and this allows for both. This also allows for total hand release during practice. A lot of people use PVC for these drills, but you can't release and regret the stick like you can with this item.The slick mitt is well built. It attaches directly to the glove so you don't loose it. It is comfortable on your low hand, but will give your other arm quite a workout.
