5.0 out of 5 stars BEST option for ECG chest straps
for $599 it's pricey as hell, but works as it should. it has a live sharing ecg function to show to anyone with the link (link will stay the same every use) which is nice for if you make video content. shows different findings. without the yearly subscription of $119 per yr (they have monthly to), you don't get too much. with the subscription service they provide the VO2 max to it, but no heart ecg interp. of final findings (a-fib, sinus tachycardia, bradycardia, etc).....
5.0 out of 5 stars My doctor accepts the report
The Frontier X2 works amazingly well, especially if you need some of its key features. As an example, it allows you to send your doctor a ECG trace which is a very important feature. Frontier X2 is a great choice for people concerned about their heart health. It's not a medical device but it gives you all the data which is required to measure your heart health such as EKG monitoring, Heart Rhythm, Heart Strain etc...Frontier X2 work well for recording HRV over the course of a full day and even during sleep. You get the full ECG recording. It gives you 24 hours continuous EKG monitoring which makes it the only device with Continuous Heart Monitoring Feature.Fourth Frontier keeps on updating firmware to address problems if any. For Rebooting, You have to press and hold the button long enough to get a forced reboot in order to start the device. Finally, Kudos to Fourth Frontier Customer Support team. They are available 24*7 to address your queries.
3.0 out of 5 stars UPDATED REVIEW
I'm updating my review for this product. I have had some interaction with customer service and used the device.First: I was extremely unhappy that the device did not come with a wall charger, considering the price tag. On top of that, they aren't clear that it doesn't come with the charger until you read the directions, and they state that you should use a charger that has an input of no more than 5V and output of no more than .5A. The directions caution that using a more powerful charger can damage the equipment. Well, finding a charger that lets out a trickle of power is extremely difficult (I found just one on Bolo).Customer Service: I contacted customer service during the Christmas holidays, and heard back pretty quickly after Christmas was over. They offered to reimburse my charger purchase. They also bumped my question about the charger up the line, and I was told that I could use a regular charger. I bought the low-power one and was reimbursed right away. Customer service was very attentive and polite. In all honesty, that's rare these days, so I was very pleased about that.On to the device. I'm fairly sure the device I received was simply a lemon, based on the many reviews I've read. The short version is this: I tried the device for some short time periods and it seemed to work fine. Anything longer, though, and it would show that it was working but not show that it had made an activity file. I scoured the documentation for answers, tried synching the device (it would not synch), tried forcing an upload, and nothing. Eventually I got a message stating that the device memory was full, while the activity log said it had recorded just 2 hours of activity. I also had trouble with the phone app showing low or 0% battery when the device had memory in the double digits, and I had to reboot the device to get it to reconnect properly. The documentation on this is scant. It tells you how to use it (for the most part) but the troubleshooting guide read like a sales pitch rather than real help. I looked for answers in the community but found questions like mine and no answers.Customer service, again: I contacted their chat support and they were unable to help me. Instead, they asked me to set up an appointment for a video chat for onboarding. The calendar dates/times they sent were almost all in the early morning hours (from 1 AM onward) and I couldn't find a time until the following week. They then sent me an link to a calendar for tech support, with the same kinds of times. I was able to set up a meeting for 11:30 AM on Saturday. That turned out to be 11:30 *PM*, so I was all alone in the morning and missed the evening meeting. I didn't make a mistake. I was shocked that their tech support hours started at 1 AM my time and assumed it was because it's an international company, so I scheduled the time best for me. I would never have scheduled an appointment for 11:30 pm.So I gave up and returned the monitor as defective. Customer service has continued to reach out to talk with me, but I'm just not interested anymore.I will say that the device does look pretty cool, and it was great fun to watch my ecg readings scroll by. The strap was surprisingly comfortable, even though I had to tuck it under my bra to have it in the right place. Do watch the videos, because I learned more about how to wear and use the device from them than from the written guides.I was looking for the device for medical purposes, and I will say that this is definitely geared toward athletes more than medical - most of the activity types were things like running and walking. But that's ok. I don't like that my information goes to the cloud instead of, say, to my computer, but I could live with that as well. I've I'd have been able to get it to work for me, I'd have used it to try to improve my heart health as well. But alas, I was not lucky.
2.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced test device
This 600$ device uses a micro usb connection in 2024.That alone should raise eyebrows. The reliability is poor at best and it doesn't have basic functions such as measuring O2 sat, which a smart watch at a quarter of the price can do.I'm trying to think of what the use-case for this device is, but at anywhere near it's current price I cannot find one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate!
Unfortunately, watches have never been able to read my pulse. I don't have the strongest pulse on my wrist. This device on a chest strap is about 99% accurate, compared to watches which are only about 80-90% accurate.I have a heart condition so I wanted a more accurate way to track my heart for my doctor. It also runs a continuous monitor ECG during workouts which is pretty cool. There are additional metrics such as heart strain and heart rhythm which I’m trying to figure out. It also syncs up the heart rate with my Garmin fairly easily so I use it while running. I was able to catch what my heart does while working a 4-hour shift, and what happens while I sleep! I just use the "indoor activity" option whenever I want to track myself while resting, working, or sleeping, and I was able to show the ECG strips from the web app to my doctor.
1.0 out of 5 stars Total Disappointment – Frontier X2 is Unreliable and Poorly Supported
The Frontier X2 heart rate monitor has been an absolute nightmare. From day one, it consistently failed to work properly. I spent weeks troubleshooting with tech support, only to be told repeatedly that the issue was with Garmin. That’s simply not true—I tested the Frontier X2 on multiple Garmin watches, and the failure was identical across all of them.Hoping it was just a compatibility issue, I tried the monitor with a NordicTrack treadmill, and guess what? Same exact failure. It's crystal clear this device is the problem, not the equipment it's paired with. What made this even worse was the customer service. Every time I asked to send the unit back for a replacement, the question was ignored. Not once was I offered a return or exchange—just deflection and blame-shifting.This product is completely unreliable, poorly supported, and absolutely not worth the money. I strongly advise anyone considering the Frontier X2 to look elsewhere unless you enjoy wasting your time, energy, and patience.

Good heart rate monitor
Bought as a gift for my daughter to help monitor her heart rate during workout sessions. It has a strap which fits around her chest and it makes a noise if her heart rate exceeds the rate she sets, based on her cardiologist's advice. She is happy with it.
Solid Hardware, Premium Pricing
After brief usage, I can confidently say that the product is pretty useful to ensure you don't get past the guardrails when working out. The hardware itself is excellent - reasonably comfortable to wear during intense workouts, with good battery life and consistently accurate readings. I haven't had a chance to test the water resistance, but it looks like it can take some abuse. The app's interface is not too bad. I mainly bought it for measuring my performance during HIIT workouts, indoor running and sleep tracking. For casual fitness enthusiasts, the base unit provides good value. But if you're purchasing this expecting comprehensive fitness tracking without additional costs, you'll likely be disappointed. Where things get complicated is the subscription model. The base functionality works well, streaming real-time ECG and lets you track basic metrics. However, many features I initially assumed would be included are locked behind their annual subscription (INR 10K / year).Overall, solid hardware with questionable pricing strategy. Worth considering if the base features meet your needs without additional subscription.
Frontier X2 – A Must-Have for Serious Athletes
As a long-distance runner, the Frontier X2 has been a game-changer. Unlike regular fitness trackers, it provides real-time ECG, heart rate variability, strain score, and breathing rate — all during intense workouts. I use it to monitor cardiac strain and recovery, and the data has helped me optimize my training and avoid overtraining. The chest strap is super comfortable, even on 2+ hour runs, and the battery easily lasts a full day. Syncs perfectly with the app and gives me in-depth insights post-run.If you’re serious about performance and want lab-grade data on the go, this is the device to get.
Excellent product
This heart monitor is easy to wear and has a great number of useful features. I really like the livestream ECG feature and the ability to be able to send information to a health professional.Customer services were really good in responding promptly to my queries about how to use the device. I also had an issue regarding the Apple Watch app, but this was helpfully resolved - it was apparent to me that the company really strives to achieve excellent customer service.
