The shaver gives me an excellent close shave for an electric razor. I used to use a rotary shaver that never got me nearly as close as this. I bought this because my blade cartridge in my old razor was ready for a replacement and this was only about $40 more at the time than buying a replacement cartridge. It also included the cleaning station which is a GAME CHANGER! It keeps the razor fresh and clean so that it shaves much closer every day. You just empty the shavings, pop in in the station and it cleans and charges so it's ready for you the next day. SUPER EASY!

This set is perfect. It has all the accessories needed for a clean shave and hair maintenance.I always used a standard razor but as I aged it was increasingly irritating my face. I decided to try an electric razor and chose this set after reading reviews and aspects. I am not disappointed.The cleaning stand was a bonus and was convenient.

I’m liking the shaver after a few days. Comfortable, compact, quality build. 2 things I don’t love is there’s no flip up quick trimmer like my last one, you have to carry an attachment and swap it out. Not a big deal but it’s something I wish it had. Something else is I think you have to press the loud cleaning function for the charging to engage, you can’t just lay it in cradle and have it charge. Not great for my morning shaves when the wife is still sleeping. I’m happy with it though, I’m keeping it.

It works. It really works. It is nothing like the two I have bought in the last 7 months. One of those was a waste of time,it plain doesn't work,the other crapped out in 6 months.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I really like the charging base, its solid and supposed to clean the machine.. I did not shave for 2-3 days and the shaver really had problems, I had to go over and over the same spot, some of the spots I was even afraid because it felt like pulling a hair, hurt. On the end after double time as for my wet shave, I still had spots left :( So I had to pull out the wet shaver. I have a feeling even the design feels nice and compact its outdated. I grow up in Germany and some companies think the don't need to improve a design :( For me at least its not working, I will try one more time on a 1-2 day shave where my hair is not so strong ! But really hope the other brand with 3 rotating heads will do a better job ! After testing Phillips Rotary Shave System, Braun seems to be 10 years behind thats why the one Star ! The other shaver gets almost all hair on first or 2nd run, while the Braun I have to go 5 times ! Also it includes an App that your phone can connect to the shaver monitoring how you shave advising you to rotate more and showing when blades need to be replaced. Sorry Brown you need to innovate and not wait 10 years or more ! Thank you Bolo for having the option returning items that not work very well !

I had used Braun shavers before, but couldn't find another at a good price after the last one broke. I saw this one on Bolo and decided to try it. It is durable and quiet. It is comfortable to use and easy to clean and recharge. It is cordless, so it can not be used while plugged in (I used to do that with another shaver).

Nearly 1.5 years after purchasing this I'm demoting it to 3 stars. First, I feel like the blade that came with it was manufactured in a different plant from the official Braun replacements. The factory blade never came close to lasting as long as their claimed 18 months. I got 5 to 6 months out of that first blade, but the replacements... good luck getting more than 3 to 4 months out of those. Also, the seal on the power button has broken leaving a sharp edge. I'm assuming this has also compromised its water-resistant status, so I now have to be careful not to let any water drop on the power button. Fortunately, the warranty is 2 years, and the customer service is excellent. They send you a prepaid UPS label, which is great. On to the original review:Compared to a razor, you do get a close shave (that smooth tactile feeling). The main difference is that it doesn’t last as long, so it’s close, but not quite as close. Battery life is great. I charge it once a week, but could probably go longer. My one criticism is that I think the estimation of blade life sounds optimistic. I’ve had it less than six months, and I’m noticing I have to make a few more passes than I did when it was new to get everything. I think they say the blades last 18 months. I don’t see that happening. … *** update 6.5 months later… yeah, NOBODY who uses this daily is getting 18 months out of the blade. 5 to 6 months is more like it.*** Re: wet/dry shaving. When I first bought it, I tried a wet shave with regular drug store shaving cream (compressed). Beyond useless. I recently tried real shaving cream (e.g. Proraso, the stuff that comes in a tube) applied with a brush, and that actually works quite well. So, if you want to do a wet shave with this, get some real shaving cream, and lather it up with a brush.
