Fit is true to size, with a slightly wider toe box than Hoka and Adidas. Definitely more comfortable for me since I have a slightly wider foot. The amount of cushioning is also just right. I tried the New Balance 1080s and Hoka Cliftons and they had too much cushioning which made them less stable for runs and workouts. The Kayano is a stability running shoe so it makes sense. I purchased last year's model (Kayano 31) and saved $40 over this year's model.

Thanks to these shoes I am now able to start running again. I was having issues for a long time where I couldn't go running because I couldn't find shoes that wouldn't hurt me. Once I found these it had the perfect softest durability and art support to help me get back into running. These are also great shoes for long days of walking like at a theme park. Although I wish they were a little more water resistant that's not something I worry too much about overall because it doesn't affect the performance of the shoe. They holding up very well after many many miles.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:These shoes really helped my situation. I am on concrete floors 9 hours a day and my knees and feet would hurt constantly. I tried other popular brands but the Asics kayano 31 have greatly reduced pain and fatigue in my knees and feet.

These shoes offer great support and cushion. I bought the mens shoes because generally they fit better for me than womens shoes. I am an over pronator when running and these did not require a break in period and though I am NOT a runner, I am trying to be and these shoes help. I have rheumatoid arthritis so it was important for me to have shoes that can support my achy feet. I love the color and want to buy other colors.

Overall, I think this shoe is a great blend of stability and comfort. I got this shoe to use in rotation with my Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 and I’ve come to much prefer the Kayano 31.Based on my foot anatomy, I don’t NEED to use a stability shoe but I do like how the Kayano 31 keeps my foot feeling stable and secure while walking or running. One of my favorite supportive components is the somewhat tall and structured heel/ankle area. I also appreciate the 4D Guidance system as it helps me feel generally more confident in my foot strike. The padded tongue also stood out to me as a nice feature. I have a higher instep and regularly get pressure points at the top of my foot from my laces and this little bit of extra padded helps alleviate that discomfort.The only issue I have with the Kayano 31 is around the toe box. I’m not sure if it’s the toe box construction or the style of upper but I regularly end up with a hot spot on my little toe when I do longer runs. I wear and extra wide and still experience this. It’s almost like the toe box begins to taper just a little too soon. There’s also a distinct feel in the forefoot where the midsole foam stops. It leaves my forefoot feeling rather flat compared to in the foam extended just slightly into the forefoot area.Overall, I think this is a really comfortable, supportive, and great looking shoe. Outside of the issue with the toe box, this is a shoe I would be happy purchasing again.

I have previously ( 5+ years ago ) ran competitively.(6min/mile roughly depending on distance ), at that time I used the model of shoe for longer runs and a lighter asics shoe for races . I have recently resumed running (VERRY lol)casually and was skeptical of the LARGE HEEL of this model as they did not have large heels previously . I took them for a spin earlier today and my skepticism might turn into a preference at what I would call slower (9min/mi current cry)pace.VERRY supportive and I think this model of shoe although expensive has saved me money on medical expenses that may have occurred in other shoes . Thanks asics for maintaining a great quality model of running shoes for many years that is the gel kayano .

Good shoe, but not as good as the 30. The area behind the ankle is high and runs on the back of my leg. Very annoying in summer during short sock season.
