This has to be the worlds tastiest for hot but not stinging hot. Since I have tried this, I can't imagine using any other in my recipes. I highly recommend this, give it a try! It's great mixed in with plain hummus too. As an American I haven't been blessed with learning many recipes other than the usual things we make here. But this spice has adequately replaced any others in my Mexican food tecipes because its such a nice flavor of hot. And its excellent in my chili recipe replacing the chili peppers.

This pepper is milder than regular crushed red pepper, with more flavor than heat. I use it any time that I want a little more than black pepper, but not something as hot as cayenne.

I was skeptical that the product would be all that different from regular chili flakes. But it is. The chili has a more subtle flavor and is not as hot, adds a delightful boost to any recipe.

This is my first experience with Aleppo Pepper flakes, and I don't find this to be hot or spicy at all. Which actually is okay, because I use this instead as a "finishing" touch on many meals.You know how sometimes you make dinner and it looks kind of... "bland"? Brown meat, beige potatoes, white bread, yellow pasta. Meh. I sprinkle a little of this over the meal, and sometimes some parsley flakes as well, and voila! A restaurant-worthy meal!I ask if it's authentic because I read that Aleppo pepper is difficult to come by because of war in the region where it's grown, and that many suppliers were using a different kind of pepper as a substitute. Either way, it serves the purpose I'm using it for, which is as a visual accent to make bland meals look more appealing.
