I learned how to get my hands dirty doing basic repairs, maintenance, etc. and this scooter keeps scooting on. The only thing I wish was better about this scooter is the battery. If the battery was longer lasting, this scooter would be an amazing competitor to commuter scooting. Also inclines really kill speed and eats up battery really fast. Personally I'm saving up for a fat tire e-bike with a better battery and faster speeds, hill climbing ability, etc. as I live in a place where fat tires thrive. Despite this scooter having a somewhat fat tire, it's not fat enough for the best traction. Hope my reviews and updates have informed you guys enough to decide whether or not this scooter is best for you.Flat tire/wiring experience update:It happens to the best of us. A small piece of glass penetrated my tire, into the inner tube and caused a flat. If there's one majorly bad thing with Gotrax, is a lack of footage covering basic repairs on a lot of their scooter models, so I had to learn how to take the rear wheel off myself to patch the inner tube. Taking the wheel off was a pretty straight forward process. Remove some screws, nuts, unplug power wire, etc. and the wheel comes off easily (you'll need an adjustable or socket wrench about 18mm, an Allen wrench set, and screw driver) . The tire however was a nightmare to take off as it was really tough. Fast forward after I patch the tube and assemble the wheel back, I try to ride but the power wire yanked and plugged out a yellow, green and blue cord inside the battery storage. This caused the wheels to stop responding, but the solution was to simply open the battery storage underneath the scooter, plug the colored cords into the matching slot, and viola the scooter is fixed. The whole experience was extremely frustrating because of the lack of resources to assist in basic repairs, but it is pretty simple once you know what you're doing.2 month update:I ride this thing 8 miles total per day, 5 days a week. I’ve racked up approximately 320 miles total so far, and it’s still holding up well. The only recurring issue is the throttle. It seems while I’m riding in neighborhoods where I have to stop at stop signs often, the throttle will have an issue that slows down the scooter’s speed. This is typically an easy fix if you stop for a few seconds and restart the scooter. But to avoid this issue I’ve adapted my riding style in neighborhoods by switching from 20mph mode to 15, which seems to have mostly fixed the issue. Overall, after two months and hundreds of miles, I’d say this is a great buy for casual riding. Even on my bad days, it’s always fun riding on the scooter and even something to look forward to. Great casual scooter.Original review:Let me start off by saying that I’m 6’2 and about 250-260 pounds give or take. This scooter holds me up quite well, much better than I expected. My size only becomes an issue going up inclines. I can tolerate the speed drop off from light to moderate inclines, otherwise I just hop off and walk up until the roads are more leveled. On flat roads I can go up to 20 mph.Battery life seems to be doing great so far, but I’ve only ridden about 14 miles total so far. I’ll have to update later on as the battery ages, but it charges reasonably quick. The scooter performs smoothly, and quietly, just try to avoid pot holes and large cracks in the street. Also try to avoid any sharp objects that may be on the road.If anybody is wondering how it rides in the rain, well I can say it holds up much better than expected. The wheels keep their traction very well and I didn’t experience any slipping or sliding, but try to avoid if possible.I’d say so far, this scooter has exceeded my expectations for commuting to work. Eventually I’ll take it out for grocery trips when I get good locks. I’ve read that u-locks along with thick chain locks from kryptonite brand is the way to go. The more locks you put on this thing, the better. Get sensor alarms too. Get anything that deters and prevents theft. I’m personally gonna get a few different chains and u-locks, disc locks, etc. You can never be too safe. For only 500 smackers, this has shown to have great bang for your buck as far as commuting in a city goes. My destinations are never too far to worry about battery life. When I ride it to work, I bring it inside my post and top off the charge to prepare it for the next ride.Do not let the battery fully die, you’ll wanna charge it while it’s at least at one bar life left. One accessory I recommend getting is a bicycle turn signal, it feels sketch trying to hand-signal and only having one hand on the handlebars.Oh and the rear basket is a neat addition, although I do want something slightly bigger.Anyways, as far as my impressions currently stand I’d recommend this to anybody in a city. I was exclusively walking and bussing before I got this scooter, so it feels nice not having to get on my feet every day for a simple commute to work or the grocery store.

I couldn’t be happier with my electric scooter with seat! From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by how well built and sleek it looked. Assembly was quick and easy, and the seat is a total game changer. It’s super comfortable and makes longer rides much more enjoyable. The ride itself is smooth, quiet, and surprisingly powerful. It handles hills and uneven sidewalks like a champ, and the battery life is great. I can go days without needing to charge for my short daily commutes. The top speed is more than enough for city travel, and I feel safe with the responsive brakes and bright headlight. What I love most is the added comfort of sitting means I actually look forward to running errands or taking it out for a quick ride around the neighborhood.Highly recommend this scooter to anyone looking for a fun, efficient, and comfortable way to get around.

The media could not be loaded. I live in a retirement village in Pennsylvania, USA. The place is kind of spread out and I was using my car for trips less then a mile to go to different activities. About 6 months ago, our village maintenance department purchased 3 Gotrax Flex Ultras, for maintenance personnel to get around. They claim they like them and have not had any problems. So, a couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Gotrax Flex Ultra to get around and save my car from riding short distances. It arrived in a few days. Assembly was easy. You take it out of the box (yes, it’s heavy), snap the handlebars in place and slide the saddle in place. Everything good so far. When I tried to use the scooter, it would not move, but came up with an E6 error on the display. Next I wrote up the issue on the Gotrax web site. There is an area to describe the problem, based on where you bought it. I had purchased mine through Bolo. The following day I received an email from a person named “Honey” in the Gotrax support group. Honey asked me to send her a video, documenting the issue, as well as a copy of the invoice, which I did (see attached video). Gmail does not allow file attachments larger then 25MB, and the video was larger. I copied the video into my Google Drive, which is part of my email account and sent the link to Honey.Following day I received an email from Honey that the problem is most likely caused by a faulty Controller and she would send me a new one (free of charge). I asked her if she had a video or manual on how to replace the Controller and she sent me a video link the following day, showing it was under the floor board. The new Controller was sent from Texas and arrived in a few days. Immediately I went to work to replace it. Turned the scooter upside down on a saw-horse and started to remove the coves on the bottom, First I had to remove 4 allen screws with a metric allen wrench (also called a ‘setscrew key’) to remove the metal skid plate. Next I removed a number of Philips screws to remove the plastic battery cover. The cavity contained the battery and the aluminum color Controller (see attached pictures). The Controller is held in place by two 3mm metric allen screws. Once loose, I pulled out the controller and swapped wire plugs with the new Controller one by one. Then I reassembled everything in reverse order. The whole thing took less the 2 hours.Set the scooter upright and it works perfectly. In 1st gear it has a top speed of 15.2 mph and 2nd gear it will do 20mph. That is good enough for me. While taking it apart, I had a good look at the scooter construction. It is well built. Also it has a number of safety features, which I assume are built into the Controller. After testing, I did have to make a couple of adjustments. 1. The rear break had to be adjusted tighter. The seat clamp had to be made a little tighter, so the seat shaft would not slide down. That’s it! I am perfectly happy with my purchase.Other then repairing it myself, I could have returned the scooter. Bolo allows a 30 day return for Prime Members and if you bought it from Gotrax direct, they give you 14 days to return. I did not do so, because I did not look forwards to getting that scooter back in the box with all the packing material. Plus, I did not know if the shipper would pick it up from my residence.

    I love my seated scooter

It goes for two hours on a charge and I have had it up to 27 kms/hr. It just like a small motorcycle, but quiet. I am senior. It only weighs around 40 lbs making it easy to get in my car and go. I used to be a kayaker, but now I love my scooter more. There are two problems the throttle hurts my hand. It should be a thumb throttle and the battery indicator is not accurate. I have to use a speedometer on my phone because doesnt have one. Oh the seat is really comfortable. I sit up straight not bent over. I wish the handle bar height was adjustable. But all and I love my scooter.

    Best e-scooter out there!

    Great, But A Puzzling Machine

I bought this being not sure what to expect. With reviews being all over the map, it seemed most bad experiences had to do with delivery, rather than the scooter itself. I'm adventurous so ordered one when one came available.I have a bad back, so this is my fourth try at a bike/scooter in the last five years. With the others I immediately had issues and returned them (Bolo & Costco). This one looked quite a bit different with the larger seat and suspension in both the seat and the frame.Sure enough, in five weeks I've had no issue and enjoy being able to get back out for some fresh air, though I would prefer the exercise of pedaling. But, I do 'paddle' along enough that I do get some exercise. Now the puzzling part. On my scooter the key, throttle and the bell and rear brake are on the left side of the handle bar, the horn and front brake on the right. This seems intuitively backwards and backward to anything else I've ever ridden. It also appear backwards to their pictures on the website and in the manual. It's not something I did as the handle bars and simply unfold and lock. I couldn't mount them backwards. Besides, if it were turned around the brakes would be under and have to be pulled by the thumb. It seems the scooter was deliberately assembled this way.European/British model? I've gotten used to it, but it is dangerous as anybody else jumping on it expects it to be the other way around. The bell also doesn't work out of the box.Edit: I notice another review shows the controls backwards as well. Gotrax does tell me this is not their proper orientation. Fixing was simple though. Took the two screws out that hold the handlebar in place and turned the bar around. Made sure I turned it so there was no binding or twists in the cables and fastened back down.I watched an unboxing review and it mentioned the handlebar 'needs to be assembled', but the manual does not mention that and mine was fully attached and tight, just backward. The manual does mention to make sure those two bolts are tight. Assembly workers must be working too fast.

    As described

Easy assembly, great little ride!! Strong frame and comfy seat. Ride is smooth and fast enough for me. Very happy with purchase.

    low quality in every way

I did not abuse the product as I relied on purchasing a scooter to help assist me with managing my own mobility challenges, but this is clearly not the product to fulfill my needs.- The paint is not durable enough to endure normal wear and tear and chips extremely easy. This indicates that the paint has not properly adhered to the item.- I had attached side mirrors with rubber grips. The paint came off on those areas as well upon removal of the mirrors for return.- The hand grips also showed early and premature wear and tear.- The grip tape on the deck of the scooter was not sticky enough to hold it in place over the long term and showed signs of lifting.- The paint around the guard rails was also not able to stand up to normal use.- The saddle would not stay tight and safe, coming loose while riding which presented safety issues for me.- The product specifications indicate an 18+ mile distance for battery life, however my battery died after 12 miles- The battery meter, once between 75% and 50% began fluctuating between 100% and 25% (it is a grid display, and it will not display 0 if it is even running).- The speed while operating would not remain at a steady consistent pace even while operating at maximum speed. All of these problems are a result of the product failing to meet advertised quality in every possible way. I rode this scooter for 2 days and it looks like I have owned it for a year, not 2 days.
