Not bitter at all even after using 2 teaspoons of Matcha. Color is a vibrant green. The 3rd kind of Matcha I ordered from Bolo
5.0 out of 5 stars For cheap high quality matcha buy this one!
Wanted to buy a good ceremonial grade matcha that isn't too expensive and this was it. It is taking me awhile to get the ratio right but 1 1/2 teaspoons seems like a good amount for matcha lattes. I did a lot of research prior and found that this matcha tastes good and is high quality at an affordable price. I was between this matcha and Naoki, but reviews on Youtube recommended Kiyo. I do not use the traditional equipment, just a handheld sifter and an empty Talenti tub as a shaker- no clumps at all, just little spec of matcha. This matcha also gives an energy boosts. Definitely worth the price because good quality matcha won't be available at a cheaper value. Buying this again for sure.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
Reminds me of ippodo sayaka with a more umami (salty/seaweedy) and astringent (powdery/chalky) profile. For the price it isn’t bad but it’s definitely more grainy than I’d like it to be.
5.0 out of 5 stars DON"T HESITATE JUST GET IT!! CLASSIC GRADE FTW
this was surprisingly delicious. It stood up to milk so well, and perfect for lattes. The color is absolutely bright green, which really surprised me given the price point for 40 grams and its availability!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
3.0 out of 5 stars Kiyo Classic Grade 100g Review
I have been drinking matcha TEA (Americano) for a while now to cut back on sugar and dairy. I have also tried various brands including Ippudo, Naoki, Marukyu Koyamaen, and more (100g+). No matter what temperature I try to mix Kiyo with, the matcha tastes like grass water. Flavor is strong but not pleasant. The matcha itself is a dull green color but gets lighter after whisking. Overall not great and is probably the worst matcha I’ve had out of the 4-5 I have tried. If you can’t get the Japanese matcha I would just go with the Naoki Organic Spring First Harvest on Bolo for the best value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not grassy tasting
Best so far. Worth the cost , you use less and the taste is the best
5.0 out of 5 stars Top quartile of high end Matchas I have tasted. (Revised review)
I am new to matcha and have tried 4-5 five different brands is this price point and this the best one so far. Richest green, Nice creaminess not a lot of bitter notes but still rich in flavor. Still learning and exploring but I am sure I will circle back to this one. Sorry for the crappy photo was reviewing the whisk and that was the focus of the photo but you can see the nice foam and the rich green color.Want to give update several month later. First I want to be clear what version I order. It was Kiyo Matcha Premium Grade Toyokage Ceremonial Uji Matcha - Pure Japanese First Harvest Ceremonial Grade Matcha Green Tea Powder from Uji, Japan (40g/1.4oz) I have had over a dozen matcha now and at least 3 of these were superior. However those there were also significantly more expensive. The best was more than double price per gram and the other two about 20% more in price. One other observation I see with these teas is that the greener teas tend to have a little more moisture so they tend to clump a little more so you definitely have to use a sifter. It's counterintuitive, but the dryer tees are actually easier to mix, but I also think when you over dry delicate matcha and the tea you lose some flavor.I still stand by this being an excellent tea and I think it was separates it from a lot of others. It's a solid value at the high end. It's no longer the best tea I've tasted, but it's in the top 25% and I'm only talking about high end Matcha tea.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best so far
Loving my Kiyo matcha tried some of the 40g varieties a while so now I’m getting 100 g as I can’t live without it
