I do not have heavy legs. I bought them, in a size large, to help with my circulation and keep my veins under control. I tried to put these on by myself but having neuropathy in my fingers, made it far too difficult. I called in my husband for assistance. With his strong hands and much perseverance (and cursing), he got the Left stocking up-ish. The heel was almost in place and a few wrinkles remained in the ankle area. The toe opening was a bit tight, but not too painful. He was ready to make his getaway, when I told him that I was unable to get the Right stocking on, either; his face visibly sunk to his chest, as he made low guttural moaning sounds . Anyway, he eventually got the other stocking on and looked like he needed a long nap. But no such luck, we had an appointment with another couple for dinner. By the time we arrived at their home, an hour later, my toes were purple and I was walking as if I were drunk. OFF came the stockings (surprisingly easy), and I immediately started the return process, before dinner. These are VERY good quality stockings with excellent compression...FOR BARBIE!
