When Nola Martin arrives at an unattended honey stand, she discovers a person who has been attacked by stinging insects. Turns out he works at the apiary, but is now unconscious and may not make it.

Determined to find out exactly what happened, Nola puts on her amateur detective hat and sets out to put the pieces of the puzzle together while doing her job as a reporter for the local newspaper.

She soon discovers that the victim has several aliases and a girlfriend who refuses to believe that “Billy” is the one who was stung by the swarm. Strangely, his boss had previously identified the victim as “Bobby.” It gets even more interesting as additional names are uncovered.

Jealousy? Greed? Revenge? What could the possible motive be? And who would do such a thing? Causing death by stingers? Nola needs to find out all she can about the victim before she meets her deadline.

So, as usual, Nola begins to “comb” things out—a drop of honey at a time.
