Are you new to discs and cups? If so, read this review to help you make the choice. I would like to firstly say, I recommend the disc over the cup 100%!This disc specifically: I love how soft and flexible it is but it is just a bit stiffer around the rim which I needed and it makes inserting it a lot easier. I love the tab which helps with locating and removing the disc a lot easier. It is recommended to change empty it every 12 hours but I accidently left it in too long a couple times and I still didn't have any leaks. I have a heavy period so that was a huge surprise. I also normally don't forget because tampons and cups are noticeably there and tampons caused me a lot of pain so for this to be so comfortable that I forgot it was there was AMAZING! I have a tilted uterus and I have no issues with this disc.Cups vs Discs:I stopped using tampons and went to cups first. The cups didn't work for me I couldn't get them in far enough, so they didn't sit comfortably and didn't suction good causing leakage all the time. It also caused pain but nothing like tampons did. I could also notice it was there all the time. Cups use suction to stay in and to form to your walls so it can catch everything. Since they use suction, you can always feel that slight pressure against your walls. If the tiny holes around the top get clogged, you have to make sure you clean those out or it won't allow the cup to suction. The cups are easier to insert and remove since they only go in a tiny bit and have a stem at the end. It's just like inserting and removing a tampon. You have to fold the cup (you can google the best folds.) but because of this I couldn't get the cup to unfold completely once it was in me therefore it couldn't suction properly, in turn causing leakage. The discs go all the way up in and sit right under your uterus so there is no pressure or pain. The placement also stops cramping and is so comfortable you don't even notice it is there. Putting it in is a lot easier then what you think. You squeeze and insert, Once you insert you do have to take your finger and push the one side up and tuck it behind the pelvic bone. You have to be really comfortable with yourself and also with blood because it can be messy and hard the first couple times but once you get it once it is super easy and fast after that. I also never get any blood on me now, I love that this disc has a hoop on it so it makes finding and removing the disc SUPER easy. If you pull the tab correctly it also makes it so the disc empties right into the toilet without getting any on yourself. I also love that you can also have intercourse with the disc in and there is absolutely no blood or mess! The position of your uterus could be an issue, but it is highly unlikely, You CAN use this with a tilter uterus, depending on which way it is tilter and how far.I could go on with information but if you are debating between the two as long as you are comfortable with inserting it into yourself then I would 100% say go with the disc!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for test-driving discs

    C.G. · June 28, 2023

The Ecoblossom disc with a loop is a white label disc. Ecoblossom is only one on Bolo offering this design in a small size. When I purchased this disc (in small- 60mm- purple) in December 2022, this was the only disc I could find anywhere that was a small size disc with a loop. This disc design is, frankly, a mess of features thrown into a disc with little understanding of what they do and how they work. My three-star rating is based purely on how terrible this disc is designed. Let's go through this disc:- RIM - it has what's called a double rim, meaning two rim loops fused together. It's firm (3.5 on Period Nirvana's scale, about the same as a Saalt or Hello disc) and moderately springy. The double rim design is copied from Nixit and Ziggy, the first two reusable discs on the market who use the double rim design. I have never figured out WHY anyone thought this double rim design is a good idea. I've found some marketing language calling it "leak-proof" but that's a lie, since leaking doesn't have much to do with this rim shape. It's just a pain to clean in the groove between each "rim."- LOOP - the loop is a great idea to add to a disc, in general. But the way it's implemented here... it's attached to the BASIN, not the rim, for one. Sure, let's attach the piece that will regularly get pulled at and attach it to the thin basin instead of the thick, sturdy rim. The basin potion that the loop is attached to is thicker than the rest of the basin, likely to compensate for this. The loop also has a really thick base. Unnecessarily thick. So thick that if they attached it to the rim, you likely wouldn't be able to pinch that part of the rim at all for insertion (which I guess is why they put it on the basin). It already makes that part of the rim a bit harder to pinch in its current position. The thick base makes sure that the loop curves against the basin and goes nowhere else. This makes the loop harder to find and loop your finger through for removal. There's also a random indent on the bottom of the loop. It almost looks like they stole the loop design straight from a soda can or elsewhere and just pasted it as is into this disc design. Genuinely don't know why it's there. For grip? Did the designers expect you to pinch the loop with forefinger and thumb instead of sticking your forefinger through the loop? The sides of the loop are quite thin and have a bit of stretch. I have doubts as to how long the sides of the loop can last before it snaps.- BASIN - The portion of the basin underneath the loop is visibly thicker and darker than the rest of the basin. It looks bad. It just looks so bad and really cheapens how this disc looks as a whole. You can't really see in the photos because they never position the disc straight on to see how this basin looks. The rest of the basin is somewhat transparent, and the thick part of the basin is not. The thick basin exists pretty much to ensure the integrity of the basin as you pull the loop to remove the disc.- BAG - it comes with a shiny satin bag that constantly left strands of thread on the disc until I flipped it inside out and washed the crap out of it. The bag feels cheap - I wouldn't be surprised if it was polyester instead of cotton. I may flame-test this one day to find out for sure. Now, does this disc work as a disc? Sure! It's not pretty, but it'll work just fine.I unfortunately never really gave this disc a fair shot. The first time I used it, I found that I could feel it when sitting down. I thought this meant that this size was the largest I could use. In retrospect, I inserted it incorrectly that time. I tried it again later on for one day and it was perfectly comfortable. However, I have other discs to try and use, so this one never got put back into rotation, especially not with the threat of having to wash the grooves in the rim.IMO, the strength of the Ecoblossom discs is to try out reusable discs at a low cost to determine if the idea/size/feature will work for you. Their regular size is 65mm, if I recall correctly (not sure why they removed this info from the listing - it's important information!) which is a good medium size to start with. There are far better disc designs out there, even among white label discs. But small round discs with a loop are still pretty rare, so this disc is still worth checking out if you think that's where your best fit might be.

1.0 out of 5 stars If only the tab was better?

    J. · April 2, 2025

I don’t want to use this one again. I have the other one, from this seller, with the string thing. But I found the string too stretchy and I worried it would eventually break. And the string thing was a bit uncomfortable. So, I “upgraded” to the one with the loop. I was so excited for it. But it has a serious flaw that has happened to me twice now. One, might be an issue with myself where it seems to be tight in there and suctions deep inside right up to my cervix and I can’t get it out. Just grab the loop, you say? I would have loved to. However, that little sucker is curved and it folded in on itself so the loop disappeared. I had nothing to grab onto. I couldn’t get my finger to the edge of the lip, nothing, it was too far up. Last time, I think the auto dump feature worked and I was able to grab the rim and pull it out. This time, I had to get my husband to retrieve it for me since the auto dump feature wasn’t working. That’s a best friend/awesome husband for you! But, truly, I don’t recommend this one anymore. That tab, even though it’s on there securely, is flimsy and folds in towards the disc so it’s between the tab and the disc and it just disappears. The “O” shape turns into a “C” shape (since the O is folded in half), rendering it useless. It was a nice idea that I wanted to have work. But, it didn’t.

    Best Ever!

I bought the smaller version and that firmer rim has made these the first discs that I’ve ever had 100% confidence that they’ll stay leak free all day. Softer versions have always had the possibility of untucking from behind my pelvic bone if I sneeze or something, but these stay firmly in place. Getting the correct size I think is probably more crucial with this disc than other softer ones, for a comfortable and secure fit. I’ve just ordered another two so I have plenty of spares for years to come.

    Good value and comfortable

    S.s. · April 4, 2024

Two discs for £14.99 on prime was the best value option I could find on Bolo. These are oval silicon discs which are 7cm long 6.5cm wide and 4cm deep. They are soft and I experience no uncomfortable suction effect. The rim is more rigid so it's easy to fold and insert, and also stays rigid for emptying. It's a little thick to insert so you may need to use lubrication. I love the ring pull to get these out. They are soft and the material is flexible. They are a little big for me even though I have a high cervix. The end can slip out a little during the day and give me a bit uncomfortable feeling, but I think this is a sizing issue. I've not experienced any leaking with these, even if I'm coughing, laughing, or working in the garden. They are good value and if used for a long time, they are good for the environment tooRecommend.

    Menstrual disc

    l. · October 30, 2023

I am a menstrual cup user and have been for 18 months , I wanted to change to the disc for more comfort as on the cup , the bit u pull to take it out has started to become uncomfortable. The disc was easy to insert however its a lot bigger than the cup , I went for the after childbirth size as I did with the cup ,,, but I have constantly leaked since wearing the disc, I have now gone back to my cup, whether it's the wrong size I don't know,, but I have never leaked with my cup,, yet the 2 days of using the disc has had me constantly having to clean myself and change due to leaking wearing it !!

Very easy to use + no leaks!

    M.C. · November 4, 2023

As a cup user I thought it was time to try the disc for the well known extra advantage that they have. Insertion was very easy, so much easier than a cup and I had zero leaks with everyday activities.Removal is also much easier due to the fact that there is no suction.I think I'm coverted. I will probably mainly use the discs from now on 👌🏻Also receiving two for such a low price js great 👌🏻👌🏻

    Painful to use

    S. · February 8, 2024

Being a avid user of menstrual cups I thought this will be easier considering there s no suction. Having an IUD placed, I had to switch to disc. i attributed the terrible lower abdomen I had even on the 5th day to the IUD. Little did I think about the new guest up there which gave a perpetual aching pain down there. I have given birth vaginally twice, so I can imagine my canal not being that constricted. The rim of the disc is too firm and it pushes out on the canal really firmly and result was a painful 5 days of period. Finally I was painfree when I stopped using it and switched back to pads. I dont suppose my cervix is too low, yet the disc keeps slipping out from behind my pubic bone even if I squat to pick something up. Bought it with high hopes but sadly had to return it. 2 stars because of less leakage inspite of the disc slipping out of position.
