I keep my cigars in air-tight food storage containers along with the smaller version of these Joe-Cool units in each--along with a humidity gauge. Sometimes I'll have to remove the Joe Cool unit depending on how the cigars are to begin with, but most of the time they're inside the containers. I recharge them with distilled water each time I refill the container with new cigars. I can humidify 40 cigars in each container with this the smaller Joe cool unit. This system has worked out well.
