5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book
Excellent presentation of information. The formula's or recipes are simple and easy to use. I have not used any of them but instead the book gave me the foundation I was looking for to produce my own. I am a Master Distiller studying the history of spirits and how they were used for much more than just drinking. I forage all kinds of herbs and flowers and now produce all kinds of herbal medicine, essential oils, hydrosols, skins care products and perfumes in the way they were made back in the 17th and 18th century. This book helped me a lot in getting to various levels.
5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you.
Appropriate easy to use and well put book. The type of information here is better than going to school as esthetician.
1.0 out of 5 stars Needs more research
This book is great if you want skincare recipes that’ll last a day or two. Not only was the book filled with recipes that I was able to find on different websites, there are no peer reviewed sources. No interviews. No information that’s collaborated with cosmetic formulators or chemists.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great book to help start make your own skin care!
These books were great! They explain the different type of face and skin care items and the difference's between them. I love know what is in the products I use and give to family and friends. All the products you could want and need are here with easy to folllow recipes. Can't wait to try them out!
5.0 out of 5 stars great discovery
I am blown away by the information. I can’t believe that all this information was out there. This book is now my beauty bible
5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
Came in great condition and very informative love it
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Info for Natural Skin Care
As a maker of organic soaps, lotions, & bath products, I am always interested in learning about natural ingredients in personal hygiene products. I found these books very easy to read & understand with clear explanations of ingredients, what they do, & variation recipes for making products. She explains the difference between products such as moisturizer vs face cream or lotion vs. body butter which some people think are one & the same. It is very helpful for both novice & professional.
1.0 out of 5 stars Complicated and NOT Natural
Don’t believe all of this book’s claims about being all-natural and nontoxic. The first section is all right, using decent ingredients to make skin care products (although it’s not particularly well-written), but part two completely switches gears. The “cosmetic formulation” section is full of super-complicated formulas using lab-created ingredients, including PEG, lake dyes, BHT, parabens, maltodextrin, hydrogenated oils, and many other chemicals that I don’t want anywhere near my skin! Save yourself the time and energy and find a resource with recipes that actually use natural ingredients.

This book is terrible, I think it was written by a bot.
There are a lot of bad books in this sector of the market, and this definitely one one of them. The author is repetitive, incoherent, contradictory, and at times makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The whole book is a string of clichés held together by pseudoscience and unsubstantiated claims. There is nothing original, it has all been said a million times, but unfortunately that does not equate to verifiable facts. The author (if they even exist in physical form) does not even agree with themself from one sentence to the next about what constitutes a natural ingredient, and frequently claims natural status for things that absolutely are not, eg Phenoxyethanol. One particular factual (easily verifiable, and totally unacceptable) error (amongst many) is the assertion that salicylic acid is a steroid, when it is quite firmly in the category of Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs.I could on forever, there is so much material to take apart here, but I don't think the bot will really care what I think. I sincerely hope that no one has actually paid (the extortionate asking price) of this sloppy work of half truths, downright falsehoods, and just awful drivel.
